Rode over to Ellijay today in search of the South’s best BBQ and while I can’t authoritatively say this is it, it was certainly very good! I don’t understand some of the poor reviews but we had excellent service and a really good BBQ sandwich...and fries. I would definitely eat here again!More

The quirky hillside of pig graves with names was cute but I feel as if they died for nothing. Very generous sized portions of food . But the bbq was so bad only a few bites was enough . Sides are typical frozen food you...find at most bbq jointsMore

I ordered 2 BBQ chicken plates for me and my hubby and was just under $50!!! I am a local and can tell you that there is nothing good about this place. The BBQ is waaaayyyy to salty. Save your money and visit another local...establishment that will not charge you and arm and leg and get bad service.More

This place came highly recommended but was sadly disappointed. We had the ribs and they were horrible. Worst ribs we ever had.

Let me start by saying the people there are very friendly. Now for the problem we had. My wife and I stopped in for lunch and each got the pork plate. I had mine with potato salad and Brunswick stew. She had hers with mac...n cheese and Brunswick stew. I'll start with my plate. My potato salad was decent. The Brunswick stew was cold and tasted of vinegar. The pork was room temperature and had an off flavor to it. My wife's Brunswick stew was cold and tasted of vinegar also. Her Mac n cheese was cold and the cheese was hard. She said her pork also had an off taste. I did not try the Texas toast but my wife said it was very salty. We chose to leave and left our uneaten food on the table. I suppose we could have let the staff know about the food but it didn't seem like the thing to do since so much was wrong. The people were very friendly though.More

We stopped in here for lunch and lived the food. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I loved the beef brisket sandwich. Would stop here again!

We were excited to be in town on a day Poole's is open...stood in line...nice people, very nice people, but their BBQ pork is simply average...cooked in a crock pot average...will not go back again! Save your money...go anywhere else!

Delicious BBQ. Four different sauces. Friendly staff. They are limited people inside due to coronavirus. BBQ beans were great. Pork was the best. Beef also good.

We come to the north GA Blue Ridge Mountains fairly often for summer vacation but this was our first time visiting Poole's BBQ. Due to COVID restrictions we were asked to wait outside to limit the building's occupancy, a little hot and uncomfortable but understandable....That was all quickly forgotten once owner Darvin Poole came outside to chat! Very friendly & informative and a genuinely nice guy! After just a few minutes you can tell he truly cares about his business, the community and his customers. Once we went inside we place a very larger 12 person to go order. The service was quick, friendly and best of all accurate! It would have been disappointing to get back to our cabin to find something missing but everything was there and absolutely delicious! Pulled pork, chopped beef brisket, chicken strips, fried okra, baked beans, mac'n cheese, green beans and best of all...brunswick stew! A true BBQ staple. Lastly, their homemade vinegar based sauce was the perfect balance of sweet, smokey and tangy. Don't miss this Ellijay, GA landmark establishment. It's worth every penny!More

Yes, they have indoor dining but due to COVID19 social distancing requirements they're limiting the number of guests inside at any given time.
