We booked and ended up with one extra family member coming. We apologised when we arrived and said we were totally happy to squeeze them on our already reserved table. This was met with eye rolling and general awkwardness and rudeness by one staff member....The table next to us noticed and it just all felt uncomfortable. We enjoyed our food but will think twice before going again for how the member of staff made us all feel. We had to ask for the extra cutlery once the food arrived so it was made clear we were not welcome with our one teenage addition. Just disappointing and uncomfortable experience considering we were a large table.More

Yes, pretty good for Sunday lunch. Beef portion was a bit on the small side (hence the four stars) but guest ale was really enjoyable. This is our first visit for a while, and we will certainly pay another visit.

Staff are lovely. I had hake special. Very small piece of fish on large mound of mash. I like mash but not great value as it was only hake. A white wine spritzer with 125ml of house wine at £5.50 and add on £1.50 for...the splash of soda leaves a nasty taste. Not sure we will rush back.More

Great friendly pub with lovely staff and atmosphere and of course delicious pies! We will definitely be back and they love dogs ( well they are better behaved than customers 😆)

Absolutely fabulous overnight stay. Rooms are just lovely. Finished to a very high standard, roomy, beautiful bathroom and immaculately clean. Loved it. Staff were superb, so friendly and welcoming, thank you. Evening meal was excellent - the pies were just delicious. Easy parking, easy to...find and great location for many of the nearby beach areas. Great weekend. Very highly recommended.More

Oh my, pie heaven! Don't look anywhere else! Terrified of food envy? Torn between fillings? No need to worry... three different mini pies on one plate with mash/chips/new pots, veg and gravy... a taste sensation.

Always first on the list when visiting relatives in Norfolk. Dropped in for drinks on Sunday just as the lunchtime food was finishing. Got the favourite table by the fire and had a lovely pint of Wherry which was the first after the barman/chef had...properly pulled off the fresh beer. Really nice pint and correct temperature. My wife had a cappuccino. All staff were really friendly and had another chat with the barman about crib boards.More

Really tasty food, the steak and ale pie is particularly recommended. Very cosy and inviting interior with a very helpful and pleasant staff. A very pleasant dining experience. We will definitely return.

We visited yesterday being the 13th February. We had booked for 19:45 but arrived a little early. We had a drink whilst we waited and our table was late being ready not the end of the world but we did have a toddler in tow...so it wasn’t ideal. When our food came out, it was disappointing, I had the burger (nearly £18) the cheese was burnt bacon underdone and it was in just a normal flour nap - for £18 I’d expect something a little bit more upmarket in brutal honesty. The other members of our party had pies as the pub was ‘known for pies’ they were okay. I’d say overall overpriced and underwhelming - nobody did a check back so I wasn’t able to raise this at the time with anybody and as by this point it was 9pm I was more bothered about getting my little one home. 4 meals (one being a toddler meal) and it was £74. At nearly £20 a head, the food was bog standard Wetherspoons standard and nothing more - which was a pity.More

No longer a pub - another Norfolk rural pub bites the dust. The warm welcome starts with - have you booked, do you want to eat. If the answer to both is no hope you are one of the lucky 4 people as the total...seating space indoors from those want just a drink is 4. Such a shame as this used to be a really good local pub. They serve a very decent pint of Wherry. But it is a restaurant. I’m sure in the summer the beer garden might provide a refuge for those daring to want to visit a ‘pub’ for a drink only but I won’t be visiting to find out.More

Over night with dog in one of the new lodge rooms. Absolutely top class standard, comfy bed and beautiful bathroom. The builders must be complimented on the high finishes. Lovely staff, great evening meal (burger was substantial and tasty - home made chips too, chicken...bacon and leek pie it’s usual scrumptious self). Great prices. Breakfast very good indeed. Will return - thank you 🙏More

Decided to try out all of the Three Horseshoe pubs within 30mins of our home. This was our final outing and we certainly left the best to last. Very friendly, helpful staff serving good wine and some excellent beer. We had the steak and ale,...mushroom and walnut pies with chips and veg. Delicious! Just hit the spot! Play to their strengths - which are the pies and you’re not going to be disappointed. If you have any room left, do try the puddings, old school yummy. Lovely, traditional, cozy decor with open fire creating a warm relaxing atmosphere. What is there not to like?More

Fabulous stay at this beautiful pub. Stayed for 2 nights at the end of January with our 2 dogs. The pub has some excellent quality, new oak lodges. Very good quality of accommodation. Also ate in the pub on both nights and had breakfast each...morning. Again, can’t recommend the food enough. The pub is famous for their pies and I can see why. Ad the chicken, bacon and leek pie and my husband had steak and Stilton - both excellent. Staff also very friendly and helpful. Very welcoming to us and to our dogsMore
