I have been going to this location for many years. I like this place A LOT for lunch. They have daily lunch platter specials for $3.95, $4.95, and $5.95 (which works out to be $1 off their normal lunch menu prices). Service is friendly and fast. I can't say that this is the best Mexican food in Atlanta; however, it... More

The place is an embodiment of an average Mexican restaurant in US (assuming you are not in Arizona) - fairly cheap, large portions, reasonable quality, and average tasting food. The guacamole appetizer was probably the best dish, the rest was fairly bland. The service, however, was very attentive and friendly.

We stopped here on the way back to the hotel due to the convenient location. My meal of chalupas was fine (or I have no taste buds) while the wife found hers a little weird. Sweet and minty not what you expect in enchiladas.

Has a nice outdoor covered patio that is popular. The inside is large but not much atmosphere. Very popular with families and teams of kids. Service is fast and efficient but not elegant in any way, shape, or form. Food is good, predictable, hearty portion, and the margaritas are, too. Parking can be tricky, but people and go quickly.

I've never been to a "southern" Mexican restaurant. This one is good. Not like Arizona, but we loved it. We will eat here again.

Monterrey is like Cheers for Mexican food. It's where everybody knows your name and the food is consistently delicious and speedy. Our 15 year old son sticks with the traditional taco, beans/rice. The rest of us have a few favorite dishes including the best grilled chicken chipotle I've ever had. I crave it! The patio is wonderful and the staff... More

After leaving a 45-minute wait list for a chain Mexican restaurant in another neighborhood, we were happy to dine here. I'd been here once before for dinner in 2014 and liked it, and it was nice to return. We ordered the guacamole Mexicano with our chips and salsa and loved it -- it tasted fresh with heaps of avocado, tomato,... More

I really wanted Mexican food and knew that the Monterrey Restaurant was just down the road from my hotel. I found it just ok, all the food was fair, nothing I would say, that was really good...just ok. Service was fair...i kept running out of tea and had to wait on it though the place wasn't very busy.

Monterrey is a pretty standard Mexican restaurant. Nothing really outstanding about it. The service is usually fair and the food is typical cheap Mexican food.

I have a theory that how much you like a Mexican restaurant is based on the one you go to the most. Having said that, I found the food at Monterrey ok but not outstanding. I thought the guac dip was a bit pastey but my wife thought it was ok. The entree was like a fajita with cheese and... More
