“The best finger steaks” is definitely correct! They were real meat-not grisly-not tough-not wrapped in 3lbs of breading. ABSOLUTELY without a doubt the best I’ve had. I could crave them but I live 65 miles away. I’ll definitely stop here again!

We recently visited this restaurant while touring Boise. It felt like stepping back in time. Outside dining and drive-thru option. HUGE menu. All of our meals were generously portioned and delicious. Definitely not diet food, but hey, it was vacation! We finished our meal with...their famous chocolate potato. I am not kidding when I say when you first get it, it truly looks like a baked potato. It is DELICIOUS! We shared between four people, and that was perfect. Restaurant was featured on Triple D on Food Network a few years back. Friendly staff. Great food, extremely nice staff and servers! I had the Monte Cristo, it was cooked to perfection. And we tried the ice cream creation, designed to look like a potato (so cool)!

This review is specific to their Prime Rib dinner. The price is high and might scare people away, but it is absolutely worth it. Hands-down the best prime rib I've ever had and you get a massive slab of it. it comes with either a...soup or salad, a baked potato, and a roll too. Other than the prime rib, nothing was really special. Definitely not something I would get every week because of the price, but makes for a good treat every once in a while.More

Great food at this popular restaurant! The menu has quite a lot to offer - burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches of every kind and more. They also have dozens of flavors of ice cream and are well known for their ice cream potato, which is ice...cream that looks exactly like a baked potato! Seating is outdoors but they have umbrellas up to make it more comfortable on a hot day. Felt like a quintessential Boise experience to eat here!More

We live out of town we ended up here take our dog to the hospital and everybody told us and we couldn't wait to go to the west side diner years ago I went there when I used to race out at firebird and it...was so good it was 1899 for prime rib took my new wife there couple years ago was terrible I mean a couple years ago so we tried it last night me and my wife and my child I had the prime rib 10 oz and my wife had the prime rib 10 oz we couldn't wait we were very hungry we ordered also three corn dogs because we never had one and a lady at the hospital asked us to try it so he did if they sold corn dogs they would hit the ball out of the stadium they were very good they tasted very good nothing wrong with them it's the prime rib that really got me the potato was very poor undercut hard couldn't hardly break it off to eat it the prime rib was small but not what I ordered it as way overcooked both of ours were and did not taste good we spent $100 between three meals our son had the hamburger it was very small $100 you'd think you would get some food very poor quality prime rib it sure didn't make our day when we were told how good this place used to be well I guess the owners are putting the money in the corn dogs and not the prime rib years ago that place was hopping with prime rib and they treated you right thanks Westside diner I just wish I'd went to McDonald's it'd been $22 and every bite would have been worth it compared to that meal we ateMore

Love the choices and most of my food was good. Had the footling dog and a large cream soda that I enjoyed. Fries, unfortunately, tasted like they had been cooked in the same oil as fish. Yuck!

This was a return visit to this very busy restaurant. Brother and his wife had finger steaks, which were tender and enjoyable. Lots of tater tots on the side, but only one extremely tiny container of their fry sauce. Very stingy!!! My wife and I...shared a ribeye steak sandwich, which was piled with a ridiculously high pile of lettuce, but did have plenty of extremely tender steak meat, plus cheese, pickle and mayonaise. Besides the lettuce, our only complaint was the lack of seasoning or flavor. Our side was a half order of their fried zucchini strips. Excellent and enjoyable, but somehat overpriced for the quantity that you get. Love their many menu options, just wish that they would correct the minor issues on the items that they are serving. Will go back to try more items from time to time.More

Maybe the chef was not in the day I was there. There was no prime rib on a tuesday oh well so I ordered a stir fry with prime rib and spaghetti. Spaghetti? Well I tried it anyway. Really bad! old prime rib. A few...scattered vegetables and the spaghetti from a box. Really your on TV so you can get away with serving subpar food now. I should have gone somewhere else. The service was good and the blueberry shake also good but avoid this place it's not worth it at all.More

I ordered a cuban sandwich and the baked potato ice cream and was not expecting much because I thought it was just a novelty. The ice cream was great and tasty and the cuban was good. Overall, I was pleasantly suprised.

Usually the food is very good, but not on this visit. The Peanut Ginger Chicken Salad is one I won't have again. A salad of greens with a few tomato wedges and some cucumber slices, chunks of chicken. Some peanuts thrown on top. Dressing was...mostly oil. Little flavor. No ginger taste at all. Ordered Baked potato with bacon, butter & chives. Potato size was small, it was under-done, little butter. I didn't finish the salad & couldn't eat the potato. Must have been an off day in the kitchen.More
