This was not our first visit to this restaurant. Previously, I have tried their finger steaks (which were good, but a bit too much batter coating for the amount of meat) and several other items. Today, I had a basic bacon burger and fries. The...burger had a bit of a burned taste and texture (maybe an open flame cooking?) but was still good enough to give it a 4 out of 5. The fries were salty, lightly seasoned, hot and crispy. A definite 5 for them. The choices on their menu board are extensive, and everything we have ordered from them has been good to very good, We will look forward to going back and trying many more items. The drive-thru customer service is always efficient and polite. Thanks!More

Having seen a photo of Chef Lou's World Famous Idaho Ice Cream Potato, I added this place to my list to visit months ago. With summer coming to an end, we decided to visit on a recent Friday night -- and were glad we did!...The place was steadily busy; but service was good and all lines kept moving. We opted to sit at one of the umbrella-covered tables because the weather was fine. We were surprised to see 2 drive-thru lines; however, both were needed to handle the constant flow of cars. The servers were efficient and friendly; they really seemed to enjoy working there. My wife chose the French Dip sandwich and was more than pleased. I chose the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger (plus Tots & a Lemonade) and it was also delectable! The only problem was that there was so much sauce that I had to use 4 or 5 napkins to clean up. I'm not complaining about that. Since the Ice Cream Potato was the main thing that brought us there, we saved some food for later and ordered it for dessert. It looked very realistic and tasted delicious!More

Wanted to visit a DDD’s reviewed restaurant on vacation. Chose this one, but wished we had skipped. “Steak fingers “ had lots of good reviews so gave a try. They are TINY strips of steak deep fried in an almost corn dog batter. More batter...than steak, SUPER greasy. Pulled batter off steak, to attempt to eat, ate garlic bread. Tots were like a greasy sponge( none of the 4 of us found edible). Husband and son tried meatloaf sandwich, average at best. Daughter had chicken sandwich, super dry. Had to dip in ranch to give it some sort of moisture to eat. Best thing, my daughters chocolate shake. Maybe out west food is drenched in grease and this is normal. To us this is a heart attack in a basket, felt my arteries clogging trying to soak off grease with napkins.More

“The best finger steaks” is definitely correct! They were real meat-not grisly-not tough-not wrapped in 3lbs of breading. ABSOLUTELY without a doubt the best I’ve had. I could crave them but I live 65 miles away. I’ll definitely stop here again!

We recently visited this restaurant while touring Boise. It felt like stepping back in time. Outside dining and drive-thru option. HUGE menu. All of our meals were generously portioned and delicious. Definitely not diet food, but hey, it was vacation! We finished our meal with...their famous chocolate potato. I am not kidding when I say when you first get it, it truly looks like a baked potato. It is DELICIOUS! We shared between four people, and that was perfect. Restaurant was featured on Triple D on Food Network a few years back. Friendly staff. Tons of ice cream drinks, etc. Burgers were tasty. A must eat place when you're in Boise.More

Great food, extremely nice staff and servers! I had the Monte Cristo, it was cooked to perfection. And we tried the ice cream creation, designed to look like a potato (so cool)!

This review is specific to their Prime Rib dinner. The price is high and might scare people away, but it is absolutely worth it. Hands-down the best prime rib I've ever had and you get a massive slab of it. it comes with either a...soup or salad, a baked potato, and a roll too. Other than the prime rib, nothing was really special. Definitely not something I would get every week because of the price, but makes for a good treat every once in a while.More

Great food at this popular restaurant! The menu has quite a lot to offer - burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches of every kind and more. They also have dozens of flavors of ice cream and are well known for their ice cream potato, which is ice...cream that looks exactly like a baked potato! Seating is outdoors but they have umbrellas up to make it more comfortable on a hot day. Felt like a quintessential Boise experience to eat here!More

Love the choices and most of my food was good. Had the footling dog and a large cream soda that I enjoyed. Fries, unfortunately, tasted like they had been cooked in the same oil as fish. Yuck!

This was a return visit to this very busy restaurant. Brother and his wife had finger steaks, which were tender and enjoyable. Lots of tater tots on the side, but only one extremely tiny container of their fry sauce. Very stingy!!! My wife and I...shared a ribeye steak sandwich, which was piled with a ridiculously high pile of lettuce, but did have plenty of extremely tender steak meat, plus cheese, pickle and mayonaise. Besides the lettuce, our only complaint was the lack of seasoning or flavor. Our side was a half order of their fried zucchini strips. Excellent and enjoyable, but somehat overpriced for the quantity that you get. Love their many menu options, just wish that they would correct the minor issues on the items that they are serving. Will go back to try more items from time to time.More

Maybe the chef was not in the day I was there. There was no prime rib on a tuesday oh well so I ordered a stir fry with prime rib and spaghetti. Spaghetti? Well I tried it anyway. Really bad! old prime rib. A few...scattered vegetables and the spaghetti from a box. Really your on TV so you can get away with serving subpar food now. I should have gone somewhere else. The service was good and the blueberry shake also good but avoid this place it's not worth it at all.More

Usually the food is very good, but not on this visit. The Peanut Ginger Chicken Salad is one I won't have again. A salad of greens with a few tomato wedges and some cucumber slices, chunks of chicken. Some peanuts thrown on top. Dressing was...mostly oil. Little flavor. No ginger taste at all. Ordered Baked potato with bacon, butter & chives. Potato size was small, it was under-done, little butter. I didn't finish the salad & couldn't eat the potato. Must have been an off day in the kitchen.More
