Rented a room for my family. I was quoted 40.00 per night twice because I called a second time to make my choice for the busy holiday. Reservation made I showed up and with no explanation they charged me 65.00. The room was rustic with was great. My kids slept on the top. Bunk of a Queen bunkbed. Every time... More

I have stopped in twice this summer and the food has been great! Breakfast I had the blueberry pancakes and they were so good! Lunch was a burger and fries and a huckleberry shake, yummy! The staff was very polite and friendly and the food was served quickly and hot, love this place!

This place has amazing milkshakes! We stop here all the time and love the hospitality and atmosphere. I definitely recommend the blackberry milkshake.

Just a rebuttle to" Worst meal I,ve ever paid for" from CML, all restaurants I have ever been to clearly have prices on the menu....if you cant afford the most expensive meal order something cheaper?? you ordered biscuits, gravy hashbrowns and 2 eggs, times 3 people, then you ordered side orders of meat to go along with that huge order,... I've stopped and eaten at Cougar Mountain Lodge countless number of times over the last 43 years. It has steadily gone downhill the last few years and todays experience will keep us from going back. I took my family of four in for breakfast this morning and the quality of the food was terrible. Three of us had a biscuit... More

As a kid we stopped at Smith's Ferry where Cougar Mountain Lodge was a clean, charming hotel and restaurant. Through the years it has had hard times, closing many days of the week and offering less to eat. Now they have ice cream only for dessert. It's for sale. So hope for the future.

I stop at this quaint cafe every time I come through. It is locally owned and full of character. The food is absolutely amazing and all fresh. A must have is the milkshakes they are made fresh and taste amazing! The portions are big and everything always tastes fresh.

You will get an overly cooked hamburger, a boat load of undercooked fries, and you'll be charged $2.00 for a cup of coffee. The service was terrible, food sucked, and it was too expensive. Menu is limited. Avoid.

Although it took a while to find the lodge, our lunch stop was very pleasant. The lodge is actually south of Cascade in Smiths Ferry, ID on Hwy 55. We enjoyed a very tasty BLT and delicious onion rings. A nice break on the way to Boise.

This is a true off the beaten path spot, located right on the beaten path of Highway 55. A good place to take a deep breath from all the weekend traffic and have a cup of Jo or a burger.
