Sometimes easy to miss this is a historical building not to be missed. The most recent visit here I asked the waitress how was the reuben sandwich? I don't always believe them when they say excellent but I decided to try it anyway. Now this was the best, largest, most delicious reuben I have ever had, so please, if you... More

Wow. Great rustic ambience. Lots of wildlife. Eggs cooked perfectly but omelet just do so. Delicious bacon. Soggy hash browns. Great smoked sausage. Attentive service. Fair prices. Out of the way but worth it.

We often stop here with out of town visitors and they are never disappointed. A unique and quirky place inside with pretty good food. Owner stopped by and visited with us and regaled us with interesting stories. Quite engaging. A very friendly and local place.

Atmosphere was great (if you like mountain town) the food was unfortunately sad. We went twice in order to be fair but at best the steaks were inconsistent if not sketchy. The wait staff was good and friendly but steaks----sad. Tough, overdone with an odd taste on the second attempt. The salad bar was decent but couldn't make up for... More

Try the french toast. Simple but very good. There are lots of large men around that work in mining or timber so be hungry when you arrive. The thick sliced bacon was a nice treat too.

It's an historic gem. You have to stop there just because. You will be immediately transported back 100 years. The food is local and pretty good and there is a good selection of local micro beers. The deck is the first new addition maybe ever and it's a great one. Don't miss this place if you are in the area.

With a name like "The Snake Pit" you'd expect this to be a biker bar, but it's an old rustic restaurant. We shared the three meat bar-b-q plate, but couldn't eat it all. We had enough for lunch the next day. The blue cheese dressing was too tangy, so skip it. The atmosphere, the character of the tables and chairs,... More

This is a very unique quirky bar and restaurant. It's is right off The Trail of the Coeur d' Alene's bike trail too. Serves breakfast lunch and is a bar!

The Snake Pit, built in 1880, is Idaho's oldest restaurant. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week all year long. Our ribs, pork, brisket and salmon are all smoked in-house, and we are notorious for the best Rocky Mountain Oysters in the area. The historic building is full of memorabilia from the last century of mining and logging. Finish this all off with house-baked pie or wild Idaho huckleberry ice cream and you have a perfect day. We are on the North Fork of the Coeur d'Alene River in an ideal spot for fly-fishing, bicycling, hunting, floating and camping.
