This restaurant was delicious and a surprising find when we were visiting Pocatello. They have a wide array of dishes, with many seafood options. My dish had scallops which were cooked perfectly. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. We really enjoyed our meals and would return!

Sandpiper is a Pocatello landmark. They have consistantly good food and exceptional service. A few of my favorites are the seared tuna and the steak oscar.

I think my title said it all. It was suppose to be high end but really didn't feel that way. Food was just okay. Service was good. Waitress very courteous and friendly.

On a two day work trip on Pocatello, ID. Sandpiper was recommended on my itinerary printout. Wonderful surprise! Great atmosphere - for single diners (me), couples celebrating an anniversary or families. Service was great, everyone so nice. Food was awesome! Had steak and crusted fish the first night, and steak/lobster special on second night. Yes, it was so good I... More

In Pocatello this is considered "fine" dining, in NJ it would not even qualify as a pizza/Italian restaurant or a lower end diner. They try to have some "gourmet" sounding items but they do not have the skill to bring the dish together. I asked what the qusine of Pocatello is, its "white" not real ethnic flare, Its uninspired American... More

This is the place for that special person dinner, impressing clients or hanging in the bar with friends for drinks. Never had a bad meal and the service is second to none. Rod Russell is a restaurateur extraordinaire. He pays attention to every detail. Highly recommend this restaurant.

After a long day of driving we decide to eat here. Great place with a bustling atmosphere on a Saturday night. I had salmon with dill sauce and my wife had the halibut steak combo. Everything really good. Good wine list and we enjoyed a couple of glass each. Banana cream pie at desert was outstanding. Would recommend the Sandpiper... More

Everything is delicious. The house salad with shrimp is a great meal by itself or a must add to your meal. Cocktails are mixed perfectly.

We were given a great recommendation to this place. It turned out to be just what we were looking for. Wonderful salads and delicious steaks. Our waiter was very helpful and kind. We also were lucky to meet the owner, who spent some time talking to us. He was so nice to spend the time talking to us.

I always enjoy food here. Upper end of restaurant pricing in Pocatello but great food. I probably wouldn't take a group of little ones here to dine due to pricing and quiet surroundings but for friends and couples it's well worth a visit. Full bar menu. Seafood. Steaks.

The first inkling of an idea for the Sandpiper Restaurants came to original founder Bob Angell as he lounged on the beaches of California. While attending college he enjoyed watching the sandpipers darting in and out of the surf, and after graduation Bob moved back home to Boise, Idaho, where he opened the first of many Sandpiper Restaurants in 1971. From its humble beginnings in Boise, the Sandpiper grew until there were locations in Oregon, Arizona, and a total of four in Idaho. After several owner and management changes, there are currently two locations still open in Idaho. The Idaho Falls location was opened in 1974 by Ron Obendorf, who is still the manager. The Pocatello location opened in 1975 and has been managed by Rod Russell since 1985. Rose Anne Voigt came on as a member of the management team in 1995. Always intended to be casual fine dining restaurants specializing in steaks, seafood and pastas, the Sandpiper Restaurants continue to enjoy great popularity. Our guests have consistently bestowed us with Best Restaurant, Best Steak and Seafood, Best Fine Dining, and Best Date Place awards. Both locations offer outside dining during the beautiful Idaho summer and fall, as well as facilities for larger gatherings.
