While in Chicago.. we had to eat at Billy Goat Tavern. It didn't disappoint. The burger was awesome.

A local icon with average food that has far outlived its cultish identity, the ORD outlet is basic and average. The basic hot dog for $2.95 is the best bargain. Fixins including relish, mustard, pickles, and onions can be heaped on. Limited Tap Beers and some basic bottled beer available. Quick and friendly service.

I grew up in Chicago knowing of the Famous Billy Goat. I stopped in at their Ohare location on a layover. I ordered a Double Cheese Burger and some Cheese Fries. The patties of meat are so thin it takes two to get a 1/4 pound Burger. As far as airport food goes the Goat is cheap as it should... More

Stopped here for 3 hr layover. Decided I would have a real breakfast with eggs, toast, sausage, hash browns and coffee. The food was cheap as mentioned by others but mine was tasteless! I was surprised the lines were long....maybe they did not get the memo or had the same expectation of hope..lol. The worst is that I got sick... More

Now that I've been here and checked if off my list, don't think I'll be coming back. Food was ok, drinks were standard - place was packed (which made sense as it was after a basketball game). Nothing special, just went for the experience.

Apparently this is a famous place. I hope that is because of the background story, because the cheeseburgers were decent at best. Go at least double or triple. I missed some lettuce and stuff on the burgers, but then again they were almost for free. If you're planning on getting a drink in the Hancock tower, you could eat here... More

If you are going to eat here, do not get the single burger. It is all bread, no meat. The patties are super thin, so I suggest getting the double or the triple. The flavor is average, but there is an interesting history about the place. Its true, there are no fries, just CHEEPS! And it is cheap too. :)

Excellent?? Airport food? Well this rating is compared to the local competition, not the 5 star steak house in the city!!! Searching for somthing different in O'Hare. What a great surprise! I previously lived in Chicago and seeing the O'Hare location as an alternative to the typical "airport food" this was a great find. Don't bother with the burgers. Italian... More

Yeah sure it's famous because of the SNL skit, and it's fun to tell your friends you went to the Billy Goat Tavern. And true, they don't serve fries only chips. But, the burger was average at best. Cheap mind you!
