A small busy spot just off Michigan Avenue in the proximity of several touristy chain restaurants (some with reliable service and good food). The Purple Pig has wonderful dishes you'll want to share. The lamb ribs were very tasty and the seafood saganaki a delicious dish similar to cioppino. Reasonably priced for the location and a good wine list of... More

We lucked out while visiting The Purple Pig last week as we arrived prior to an ever present line up. We had an excellent visit. We were lucky to sit at the bar and except for the head bartender, who was not interested or engaged, the rest of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely try The Purple Pig and... More

Had wanted to eat here several times but it didn't work out. Fantastic food and service. Perfect amount of food for afternoon meal. Wonderful flavors exploded in my mouth.

Had dinner tonight, started with appetizers standing in the heated tented area, moved inside later to a big shared table. Some of the food was outstanding (whipped burrata cannoli, salt roasted beets with goat cheese and pistachios), some a bit too sweet for my taste. Presentation of the plates a little ambitious (many ingredients/layers), but not pretentious. Overall it turned... More

The food here is absolutely amazing. We have dined here twice and both times had excellent wait staff and melt in your mouth food. My only complaint was the overpriced wine options. We asked bartender for something similar to a Malbec and while he offered us a couple options, the one we chose happened to be $23/glass. On the menu... More

Ok yes had a two hour wait. But can shop up and down magnificent mile so the time passes quickly. Not exactly the smallest tapas so considering it a value for such a high rated resturant.

My wife and I were in Chicago for the weekend, and the Purple Pig was highly recommended. My wife had the scallops, which she liked. I had the lamb ribs....delightful. The dish is very gourmet, a perfect balance of slightly rare center with nicely broiled outside....topped with a sauce with a hint of cinnamon. The drinks and service were also... More

My friends and I decided to go this restaurant for lunch since it's really a famous one. We had a high expectation. As we arrived there right after the opening time, we didn't wait for a long time. At least, that was the good start. Bone marrow seemed interesting to me and asked a waiter about the portion(I was not... More

Be prepared for a bit of a wait in this small restaurant. From appetizer through dessert the food was outstanding! A wide variety of choice, everything we tried was delicious. Service was fast and attentive.

This is a new restaurant from the house of Bannos (owners of the infamously popular Heaven on Seven, here in Chicago). They have now opened what could affectionately be called the foodie tourists' dream come true, with everything from bone marrow to fried pig's ears and fresh ricotta as well as a nice selection of paninis, and of course, the wines. Not to mention: Its right on the Magnificent Mile!
