Had lunch here during our stay in Chicago. We loved it so much that we returned for dinner the next day. We love that the menu is different from most other Chicago restaurants (Mediterranean style). The grilled bone marrow and octopus were our favorites. TIP: They do not take reservations. But you can go there and leave your cell number... More

I absolutely love this place. Every seven food items we tried were perfect. The service was fast and knowledgeable. Seating is family style and a little tight, but worth it.

Food is nice and great drinks. Services very good. Too loud for having a conversation amongst yourselves. Atmosphere very contemporary.

Great wine selection, especially by-the-glass, so you can do your own wine parings with small plates meant to be shared. Boisterous and fun place. No private conversations at communal tables. Knowledgeable and friendly servers. A great place for a mid-afternoon late lunch or early dinner. They do not take reservations and every time I've been during lunch or dinner hours... More

I've been here a couple times, and so far I think I'd only come back if I want some really good wine and to split an app or two (quite expensive and not much per plate). It's a bit of a tourist trap in my opninion - just a bit! The waitstaff are incredibly helpful when it comes to choosing... More

Wonderful atmosphere at this great little restaurant just off Chicago's Mag Mile. Interesting menu items, great cocktails and superb wine list.

Finally visited The Purple Pig after a couple of visits to Chicago. Place is very casual with banquette seating, bar seating, and hightop tables with bar stools- so if you like your own personal space this may not be your style, but since Chicago is usually full of travelers we enjoyed chatting with our table guests. Place is bustling and... More

the place felt like a rather nondescript tourist stop, bland interior, pretty bland food considering how much fat is in practically everything here. i know this place has legions of fans, so feel comfortable being honest in the disappointment.

Have wanted to visit for a while and was always in a group that had to have a reservation, well this time I was solo and when I walked in there was one seat at the bar. Food and service were great. One of the best pork liver pate I've ever had, was like BBQ sauce on brioche toast. Lobster... More

This is a new restaurant from the house of Bannos (owners of the infamously popular Heaven on Seven, here in Chicago). They have now opened what could affectionately be called the foodie tourists' dream come true, with everything from bone marrow to fried pig's ears and fresh ricotta as well as a nice selection of paninis, and of course, the wines. Not to mention: Its right on the Magnificent Mile!
