We visited "The Purple Pig" for a late afternoon snack after reading all the reviews about first come first serve and the amount of patrons. Yes, they serve about 2,000 covers a day. So it just so happen to work out for us perfectly as...More

We visit this restaurant every time we are in Chicago. We've noticed that they are using more salt in their food- not good! We like food to be seasoned but not salty! Overall the food was good. Sauce on the lamb chops was salty but...More

We sat in an outdoor patio (with heaters), because we couldn't wait long enough to be seated. Just had cocktails- Moscow Mule and Mojito. They were both delicious.

Be warned, most guests seem to have a love/hate relationship with this joint. No reservations and it's quite an effort to finally get seated and served. We were warned so we went mid afternoon for a late lunch and were seated within 5 minutes on...More

Despite the classification, this is neither a Mediterranean nor a tapas restaurant. The menu, at least the lunch menu is a mixed influence tail to snout offering of all things pork, plus other proteins including fish and chicken. The portions are too small to be...More

The food here is 5 stars, definitely worth dining here. But the place is overly busy and somewhat crowded because it's not a large place hence the lower vote. Go on a quiet evening is my advice

This is my third visit to 'the Purple Pig' - never reviewed before. The plates are beautifully decorated and presented. Out of a magazine, at least what we ordered. The food was just as good, had an Avant Garde aspect to it. The wait staff...More

One of my friends recommended we go here for lunch meanwhile in Chicago. It is a hidden gem. It is a little hard to find but the food is amazing. It is a small place so wouldn’t recommend going with a large group but it...More

We stopped here on a whim for a quick lunch. Had an absolutely incredible lunch experience. The turkey club, apparently soaked in pork fat, was the best sandwich I’ve ever had.

I do not feel it is expensive for a Chicago restaurant with a James Beard award winning chef. Three of us ate for $45 without alcohol. They offer small plates. They start at $5 to around $17. You share the food.
