The restaurant is lightly dimmed which sets a great mood. Steaks are phenomenal. Best Bone Marrow in the city. Great selection of wine.

Most people in Chicago head to Gibsons when they think "red meat; big steaks". For our money, we'd choose Bavette's any time. It's cozier, friendlier and we feel appreciated. And when you're spending this kind of money, that's nice!

Once you have their special prime steak, you may never buy a steak at the market. It was large enough to share with one other. We love this place but it is a hard reservation so you need to plan ahead. Worth the planning!

Took our son and family there for his 30th Birthday. Very nice ambiance but a little too dark. Food was good but a little pricey. Enjoyed the dinner. Waiter not very friendly. You think for a Birthday they would have given they would have acknowledged...More

We had high expectations given the publicity about this place. First, the food is excellent second, the service is top notch. My only drawback is the spacing of the tables. It is TIGHT. we had two guys more interested in our conversation than their own....More

Looking for a relaxed yet upscale setting and dining? Bavette’s has excellent service along with an extensive whiskey and wine list. Exposed brick in the bar, sofas in the lounge and an old school feeling throughout. I enjoyed a filet, the amazing thick cut bacon...More

Had a 20 reunion of a couple of close friends and we always choose/encourage a visit to Bavette’s. Had the Maude’s tower of seafood which was great. Crab and oysters were the stars. Two of us had the 45 day dry aged ribeye and it...More

Over the bridge on Wabash to Kinzie turn left. Up the road about 4 blocks on your right. However long that takes you to walk. I would say at least 20 minutes if you are taking a leisurely stroll.

Yes, an extensive wine list. However, if you would like to bring your favorite bottle of wine there is a corking fee BUT if you share a glass of wine with another patron or your server the corking fee is waved.
