Generous milk shake, delicious tuna melt. Soups and salad bar also offered a nice variety and fresh selections. The special turkey dinner sandwich was a hit with my daughter (it included turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce). The only thing I would say is that the...More

We walked here after seeing the Chicago Zoo lights. Really busy and lots of atmosphere, we ended up eating at the bar. Great bartender, really chatty and friendly and extremely efficient. Casual dining. Cheap eats. Great selection of beers and drinks! A great stop off...More

After a morning visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo, my husband and I were looking for a place to grab lunch and spied "burgers" on the outside of R J Grunts. That sounded very good to us so we crossed the street and met two uniformed...More

The two best elements of our recent dinner at R. J. Grunts in Lincoln Park were the soup and the dessert. On a cold day, the restaurant serves "temperature" soup. The cost of a cup of soup (when purchased with an entree) is equivalent to...More

This is the very first Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, and it has withstood the test of time. The salad bar is the best ever, the service is excellent always (our favorite is Dori, who has worked there forever), the menu has lots of choices, and...More

This is a fairly famous place in the Lincoln Park area. I'n fact, this restaurant is on President Obama's list of places he likes. Frankly, I found this place to be overrated. We ordered two of the more popular choices, burger and salad bar. Unfortunately,...More

This very first Lettuce Entertain You restaurant is still excellent. Although the venue is small, the food and service are excellent. And this is the best salad bar in the City - chock full of veggies, fruit, condiments, salads, and temperature soup (the cost is...More

We spent the day at the amazing Lincoln Park Zoo and were famished after walking around all day. So when Yelp popped up RJ Grunts we said, why not? Well most of us ordered some version of their burger and we were all very quiet...More

Description
The first Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, R.J. Grunts still exudes the funky, devil-may-care lifestyle of the 70s in its style, décor, music, and menu. Happily for all of us, the best eating of that day continues to be some of the best today. While there's a huge menu that's as much fun to eat your way through as it is to read, many of Grunts' old American favorites spark return visits. The burgers are arguably the best in town. The salad bar boasts more than 50 ingredients daily. Giant malts and milkshakes are hand scooped and come in a rainbow of colors and flavors. And, the Craft beer selection makes it easy to choose the perfect tasty beverage.
