We went there for the Gospel Brunch. Now, I'm sure there are lots of definitions for "Gospel Brunch", but we got caught by surprise. Polo's is not the high-octane, praise-the-lord kind of gospel I have come to associate with brunch. The music was provided by an older gentleman playing hymns on an organ who occasionally invited the the audience to... More

I've attended a catered breakfast here twice and had excellent food both times. The French toast was especially tasty! The owner is very personable and enjoys telling about the history of the neighborhood and building. If your event needs a venue to hold a meeting and meal in the Chicago area, I recommend this caterer.

In town for a Bears Packers game and had supper at this superb restaurant! Service was excellent and fun, the place had great grilled items, the best Caesar salad and Brûlée to die for. The prices were very reasonable and the food was perfectly cooked. My friend loves his steak a certain way and he said it was the first... More

The Polo Café is a real taste of South Chicago, with the ghost of the first Mayor Daley prominently on display. The food is tasty and reasonably priced and the wine selections are a bargain compared to downtown pricing. Steaks, salmon and Italian specialties are often on the menu. The gnocchi in cream pesto sauce was great, as was the... More

Had a wonderful dinner at the Polo Cafe. Make sure you have the cream of mushroom soup at - delicious! Lamb chops were excellent, served with some terrific roasted veggies. We asked for the sweet potato fries as a side, and they were yummy. The seasonal chopped salad is excellent and the spinach/red onion salad is also very good. Make... More

Cruised in on a Sunday for brunch thinking things were normal, not so- there a guy playing the organ in the back and people are singing gospel from the books provided. Food was really good and the entertainment value was very high. I suggest ordering something with the full candle lit procession and 8x11 framed photo of the Pope to... More

What a fun restaurant for a good meal and conversation. Small restaurant with tin ceilings and photos of Chicago mayors and luminaries. Great service and when we order eggs Benedict the waiter brought out the Pope's photo and lit candles. Eggs Benedict were on top of wheat bread and sausage. Quite an unusual combo; however we cleaned our plates. The... More
