This place came highly recommended as the best place for Chicago deep dish pizza, so we tried it out after a long day tromping around Chicago in the cold. I found it disappointing. The room was cold, the pizza took forever to arrive (though that...More

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous lunch at Gino's. It takes about 45 minutes for them to make your deep dish pizza. No worries ~ enjoy a great atmosphere, service, and a couple beers while you wait!

Ask a native Chicagoan who makes the best pizza and get ready for a heated discussion, but it would hard to argue that the pie Geno’s East puts out is not in contention. Great sauce, unique cornmeal crust and generous toppings makes this one of...More

I visited Gino's with my kids on a REALLY cold evening in December. We had to wait outside for just 5 minutes or so before they let us inside (they were super busy) and we were seated about 5 minutes after that, so really not...More

We ate here our last night of our trip. Spinach dip is phenomenal & pizza was great as usual. Service was very slow though-not our food as I know it takes a while to cook Chicago pizza. It was the server that was slow.

As an out of towner, I frequent a variety of Chicago pizza places. I could argue between three or four for best in town. Today the pizza we had was so cheesy & tasty that it might have taken the crown Their house salad is...More

I know it's more expensive to make deep dish pizza but this place takes advantage of that. The pizza is good but WAY overpriced. $21 for a pizza for 2?? And the salad that was supposed to feed 6 barely fed 3. There are much...More

For 50 years, the original Gino’s East has been offering the best deep dish pizza experience in Chicago. Since we opened our doors in 1966, we’ve shared millions of our signature golden-crust Chicago-style pizzas with Chicagoans, celebrities, and visitors from all over the world. Don’t believe us? The writing is on the walls! We’re world-famous for our tradition of letting all of our customers leave their mark on our restaurant. Come by and leave some graffiti, if you can find a spot, and see if you can find it next year! Gino’s Chicago-style deep dish is made the same way it was 50 years ago. We start with our signature, secret-recipe dough and top it with mounds of mozzarella cheese, fresh toppings, and our tangy tomato sauce. Our pies are slowly baked in seasoned cast iron pans until the crust is golden and flaky, then we serve it table-side, piping hot, right out of the pan. Our deep dish pizzas are loaded with so many toppings that we have cook them for nearly an hour. That’s also the reason we have to put the sauce on top; if we didn’t, the cheese would burn! But trust us, it’s worth the wait. We promise. Ask the people that agree that we are the best deep dish pizza in Chicago. Not sure what to order? Try one of our signature pizzas! The Meaty Legend is a carnivore’s dream, with pounds of pepperoni, special-recipe Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, and crispy bacon. The Chicago Fire is perfect for spice-lovers, with a layer of extra spicy Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, red onions, and jalapeno. Not a meat eater? Try our signature spinach pizza with a blend of fresh spinach and mozzarella cheese. And for the purist, we offer our patty sausage pizza, with a thick layer of our signature sausage covering the entire pie so you get tasty sausage in every bite!
