The Crown is a great restaurant to eat because on every Friday night they have sparklers, cake, and the best fish and chips they even have every typ of ice cream and the best ice cream is called a Nica-boca-glory.And even my dad had one but then the next day he couldn't go to the swimming pool because he had the large... Absolutely brilliant eaterie, very friendly and dog friendly. Lovely open fire and given a very warm welcome. Lovely choices of food both for adults and children alike. Portions were more than filling and presented well. My daughter has dined here regularly before but it was our first time and we will certainly be back..even in the winter months.

We were staying at nearby lodges and had been recommended this pub and we wasn't disappointed. Excellent food, great service. Highly recommended.

Super food, well cooked and presented and good value. Order taken by someone au fait with the ingredients (one of the party needed gluten free) and service was with a smile! Surprised to find Tribute so far north, might have preferred something a bit darker and more local but if that's all I can find to pick at then it's... More

Excellent meal and service, they went out of their way to adapt a dish to make it gluten free. Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. Everything is fresh cooked so you might have to wait little longer but it is well worth th wait.

We called in on 30/8/16 and were met by a friendly barmaid who took our drinks and food order. We both went for the fish and chips and were pleasantly surprised by the quality. Not because we expected anything poor, but because we were in an average country pub - but the fish quality was like we were in the... More

The pub seems to take great delight in stating that it is a local pub and that they are not trying to be something that they are not. Seems an odd approach to customer service?! The staff were pleasant enough to us and took our food order in a reasonable time. The ambience is a bit like sitting in your... More

I thought this pub was highly unprofessional, which may be deliberate as it is a 'locals' pub however rude and offhand staff are not my thing. If I was in the area again, it is definitely worth the extra 5 minute drive to Allendale for food and drinks. Definitely would not return here.

Visited the crown twice now while staying at park house log cabins. Both visits have been very enjoyable with great food and a fantastic atmosphere and lovely views. The first visit I tried the mix grill and my boyfriend had the burger which were both lovely but it's the Sunday dinner which is really the stand out meal. One of... More

Very enjoyable visit with family and dog. Enjoyed a lovely homemade chicken madras rice and nan bread. A roast lamb dinner and a chicken with black pudding all very delicious. Deserts very nice. Only small disappointment was apple crumble, crumble a little soggy. Good and friendly service. Would definitely call again. Nice for somewhere to be open and serving food... More
