Had lunch at this restaurant after taking the trolley tour. Had a nice lunch and my wife had a great Bloody Mary. Good service and set at the very interesting and historic DeSoto House hotel. Be sure to stop by.

We were tempted by the historic location and atmosphere of the restaurant. Additionally, Green Street offers a gluten free menu. Our food was satisfying. The service was friendly, maybe not the fastest, but as enjoying a relaxing lunch, that was a good pace for us. The Blue Cheese soup was a unique taste, I would recommend. A solid GF menu.... More

During a weekend getaway my wife and I decided to pop in to the Green St. Tavern for lunch. Upon arrival we waited for the hostess who sat us at a table and didn't give us any menu's or silverware. 10 minutes later a waitress shows up and after tending to a table that sat down after us asked us... Galena is a pretty nice looking town to spend some time in and this restaurant reflects just that. I had a fantastic experience with the food and service. Staff is very down to earth and friendly. Their salad was perfect (can't remember the name though). I tried the white chicken chili (chef managed to find the ingredients from scratch) and... More

Nice place but food was overpriced and just average. I ordered the macaroni and cheese and it was nothing special. Noodles were rubbery and dry. Not worth the price I paid for it.

We chose to eat here Saturday for lunch. It was pretty busy but we got seated right away. I had the macaroni and cheese and they waitress was very accommodating to my needs. The menu said that you could add bbq pulled pork to the mac and cheese but I cannot eat bbq so the waitress had grilled chicken added... More

We had a bad experience here and had not returned for a couple of years. We decided to give this restaurant another try and were not disappointed. We shared a salad with apples, blueberries, walnuts, and chicken and it was very good. We also shared a reuben sandwich and it was excellent! The service was very good also, we will... More

Do not order an Old Fashioned, they don't really know what that is. I had the turkey melt and my husband had a Cuban sandwich. Both were fine, but his was definitely not a Cuban. The garlic fries were delicious, but for two sandwiches and one drink (I had water), the bill was over $50 with tip. Seems like there... More

I recommend the blue cheese soup, very tasty! Great place for a quick bite or a relaxing drink in the evening.
