This place is entirely specialized in mussels when it is the season, and they cook them deliciously. The service is exceptionally good and we were served mussels for 5 persons in 20 minutes including simple starters.

Location is basic and little old fashion but its the place to eat mussles . The quality and generous quantity is worth the price . Only a pity that the french fries served as side dish of the mussles are average industrial fries. We decided not to ruins the quality and we ate the mussles in all their natural taste.

Here you can eat the pride of The Netherlands: mussels à volonté in the manner of the village with onions, parsley and white wine, delicious. After finishing a huge bowl they ask you if you want more mussels. The whole village is crowded every weekend with burgundian Belgians who love eating mussels. Also the other fish dishes are very good here and the price is fair.

We went there for a Sunday lunch with friends. My husband really adores oysters, so we had them as a starter. They were fresh and succulent. The main was mussels like chef prepares them. They were delicious, I absolutely liked the sauce with all the herbs and vegetables, really tasty!

What a nice place for lunch or dinner. Also if you don't like mussels, there is something else on the menu, and the quality is good. The Philippine is said to be a tourist trap, but not in this restaurant. Perhaps the only downside would be the outside terrace. But you can't change the building of course, and they tried their very best to make it as nice as possible. Friendly welcome, no-nonsense dutch approach, nice food for a good price. So a very nice evening out !!!

Fantastic asparagus soup. Recommended, when it's the season. Rest of the diner was also tasty. Friendly staff. When you visit Phillipine visit the Mosselbank.

Normally we would have ordered mussels, but they were out of season. Instead we were in the white asparagus season. Delicious seared scallops on white asparagus with a beurre blanc sauce. We followed this with a local (not Canadian) freshly cooked lobster salad. A great lunch........ The staff and owners were friendly and obliging making us feel welcome without being too effusive. For what we had, we felt was good value.

We had the aspargues menu in this Restaurant. The manager of de Mosselbank greets every visitor himself which gives a real good impression. First we could choose out of 2 different aspargues as a starter. We had the one with salmon and afterwards the aspargus with ham and bascilicum. Then we had a aspargus soup which was really delicious. As main course we would choose out of 4 or 5 different kind of preperations. Aspargus with prawns, with pastry, Flemish way... Difficult to choose. We tried almost every preperation and they were all really good. The staff is very friendly and the see everything. They fill your glass when it is empty. Dessert was also well presented. We really enjoyed this restaurant! The manager even said goodby when leaving.

I know this place already for more than 25 years. This place is one of the best I know for mussels and I have done some of them in the Philippine. Especially there mussels with beer is an excellent combination. Portions are more than generous and "a volonte".... But next to the mussels their other dishes like sole or lobster are worth trying it.

We were visiting relatives in Zelzate, Belgium and they asked us if we like to have mussels for lunch. We love mussels so we said yes, and they took us to this little restaurant in the Nederlands. It was delicious, the mussels were awesome! I recommend it to anyone who likes mussels. I'm looking forward to going again soon. The staff is very friendly as well. Website: www.mosselbank,nl

Went for one of their "seafood evenings" Nice & attentive staff & manager. They took the time to explain everything correctly. Excellent choice of seafood on the all you can eat buffet, everything very very fresh.. two staff opening oysters all evening i.e., very nicely cooked lobster, crab,... there was more than just seafood. There was very nice fish soup, + some warm dishes (we didn't make it :-). Good price/quality relation, premises very well maintained.. lots of parking space nearby..

The town of Philippine is known for their mussels and this was the first restaurant that we has mussels. We were not disappointed as we enjoyed both the traditional version and the version boiled in beer/wine. Seems all local agree that in season it was the place to be. Make sure to make a reservation a day prior to dining as they fill up quickly.

In the centre of the village, it was very clean the staff were friendly and efficient and the owner kindly drove us back to our accommodation. It was the first day of the mussel season and was quite busy. The mussels natural were 28 euros per serving and as three of us all ordered them they came up together in one pot and didn't look much for 84 euros.
