I had a great night here recently with a crowd of friends. Great atmosphere and very attentive staff. I had the goats cheese and walnut salad with a side order of sweet potato fries and it was absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommended.

Although a carvery does not feature too often in our choices we decided to give the Angel's carvery a try. Although the selection and quality of the vegetables on offer could not be faulted the beef, to our taste, was overcooked and the Yorkshires also not first class. We will definitely return though and try the fish of the day... More

Although I live in Suffolk, The Angel is my favourite place to lunch when I visit family in Wales . The manger and staff at the Angel are just great, nothing is too much trouble (last week I was too full for a pudding so they not only set me up with takeaway to enjoy on my train home- a... More

Free parking with good views from the inn. Food was good. Steak and kidney pie was presented in a dish with the pastry sitting ontop... bit of a let down as filling was not thick enough so was more like a stew but it did taste nice. Others with me enjoyed their meals and portion sizes are very generous.

Second visit this year (don't live local) as the first visit for gammon was delicious so had to return with family. Three gammons were tasty and all cooked to perfection and the garnishes were plentiful. The fourth person had salmon which again was perfect except for the home made chips which were tiny bits, actually all our chips were tiny bits (which... Cozy "proper" pub,and not a plastic chain, thank God!that we first discovered one lunchtime in the summer. It's not a gastro pub but does serve good hearty fare, with a smile .When we visited they were very busy and our food was a little wait however, recognise that fact, we were given free desserts which was a terrific gesture, a thanks to... Went for Sunday carvery yesterday whilst staying in the area. Friendly staff and the food delicious. Was so pleased to see a vegetarian option available for me too and all deserts were great too. The price was reasonable and surroundings were lovely, very accommodating for children. Would definitely return if I was in the area!

Visited last night to celebrate a birthday. Did not pre book, but they found room for five of us. Firstly in the bar, then a table became available in the restaurant area. Friendly staff . All ordered a different meal. Didn't have to wait that long , considering meals are cooked to order. Food cooked as you like it. Nicely... More
