Nothing like the real place in Munich but they try. Get beer and a pretzel. Enjoy the band. Been there more than once. Would go again but it gets old after a few visits.

We arrived at around 5 p.m. on a Saturday and the five of us were able to get a seat. Understand that if you don't have a reservation you'll likely end up sharing a large table with strangers. The place is massive and there was a festive vibe to it, so that was all good. First, their January dark beer... More

Had dinner with our friends and their kids (at total of 9 of us). It's a great choice for large parties. Long tables. The service was good. The food and beer were good. They had live music. No complaints. We'd go again if we were in the area.

Coolest restaurant in Rosemont. Authentic, cavernous and fun. You feel as if you stepped into Bavaria. Atmosphere - the best part You're greeted by waitresses as you would imagine they look in Munich with traditional beer hall garb. You walk in to find a massive high ceilinged place that could likely hold 1000 people. Seating is on long communal tables.... More

We went on a Wednesday night and had reservations. It was fairly busy but would not have needed the reservations. We sat close to the band and shared a long table. The band was entertaining and did a good job including the patrons. The food was authentic german food (lots of sausage, kraut and meats). They had three beer options... More

Been here more than once. Usually go just for drinks. We have eaten here before and the food is good but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere and the fun is what keeps us coming back. Word of advice, don't let anyone buy you the spankings, they are brutal and don't hold back.

If you are looking for a family-friendly restaurant, Hofbrauhaus is for you. There are large tables in a "beer house" setting. The service is quite good, and the food is delicious. Our family of eleven had the greatest time enjoying the shared pretzels, and wonderful German entrees. I especially liked the grilled chicken in mushroom sauce with spaetzle. The cucumber... More

Coming back to Chicago means hitting a German restaurant so we gave the Hofbrauhouse a try. The giant trinket and gift area when you step in should of been a warning that this was not a real restaurant. When our food came out it was not hot and the portions seemed small. The meat in the schnitzel was fatty and... More

Michael, I do apologize for the visit. We need to do better. I would urge you to request a manager no matter what restaurant you visit if you are not satisfied. The manager can then rectify the situation immediately instead of you leaving...paying good money and not happy. Actually we are a destination spot. the experience we provide is a... More

Hofbrauhaus Chicago is the first and only German micro brewery, beer hall, restaurant and beer garden to call Chicago home. Modeled after the legendary Hofbrauhaus in Munich, Germany, it takes pride giving you an experience as authentic and unforgettable as the 400-year-old original. Guests can savor schnitzels, sausages, Sauerbraten and pretzels, and some ingredients are even imported from abroad. The freshly brewed beer follows the purity law from 1516 using original recipes handed down by the Duke of Bavaria over 400 years ago. With its beer hall (Schwemme), King Ludwig Room, and Biergarten in summer, it's Oktoberfest every day. Hofbrauhaus Chicago also features live music nightly with bands from Germany and Austria. In addition, you can take a piece of Bavaria home from the gift shop stocked with authentic and unique Bavarian gifts & collectibles.
