There are few joys simpler than eating too much delicious food, drinking too much delicious beer, and singing too many fun songs with an Oom-pah band. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic meal, this is not the place. This was the best Hofbrauhaus we've...More

Ate here with 2 work colleagues on a weeknight. The weather was good, and we enjoyed their large outside eating area. Numerous German favorite dishes. Three beer options. Three. At a beer garden. I found that weak, but the beer was good and cold. Food...More

Thank you for your comments. I would like to first apologize for your poor service. Secondly, we are a micro brewery that produces beer from a 400 year old recipe. We usually have four beers available, but unfortunately we were in between our seasonal brew....More

This was the second Hofbrauhaus restaurant I have visited. The first was in Vegas and I did not have a good experience there (long story, bad sausage). Because of this I stayed away from sausages and had the roasted half chicken instead. It was really...More

We went for a family members bday and it was a festive German atmosphere. The German Band was very entertaining and engaging. The food was authentic and the portion sizes were ok. We were more entertained than we were impressed by the food. We considered...More

I am sure this place is hopping during Oktoberfest but there were not many people here when we went for lunch on a Monday. Food did not seem typically German and was just OK. Got a flight of their beer though and it was good.

This brewery reflects the true Alpine spirit and you can enjoy live Bavarian music, with good quality brews and Bavarian traditional food. We participated the party at around 4 pm and the band was already playing some nice tunes, so immediately we got into the...More

Description
Hofbrauhaus Chicago is the first and only German micro brewery, beer hall, restaurant and beer garden to call Chicago home. Modeled after the legendary Hofbrauhaus in Munich, Germany, it takes pride giving you an experience as authentic and unforgettable as the 400-year-old original. Guests can savor schnitzels, sausages, Sauerbraten and pretzels, and some ingredients are even imported from abroad. The freshly brewed beer follows the purity law from 1516 using original recipes handed down by the Duke of Bavaria over 400 years ago. With its beer hall (Schwemme), King Ludwig Room, and Biergarten in summer, it's Oktoberfest every day. Hofbrauhaus Chicago also features live music nightly with bands from Germany and Austria. In addition, you can take a piece of Bavaria home from the gift shop stocked with authentic and unique Bavarian gifts & collectibles.
