Great restaurant, ambient, location, food, beer, service. All great. I would say better than in Munich and Hamburg, as there is no cues, nice new and clean place. Many thanks!!!

Just looks like the Hofbrauhaus in Berlin. If you wanna try German food and drink, that's the right place.

This is a beer hall. If you are going with a big group to drink heavily and scream to communicate then it's a 10! If you are going for conversation or good German food - don't waste your time. It's expensive and not authentic food...More

Julie, I do apologize about the experience. We had issues with our sound yesterday and had trouble controlling the music levels. That is being fixed today. I do agree it is not the easiest to get here. Rosemont has done a nice job with the...More

The building is a huge replica of the Hofbrauhaus in Munich, very authentic looking. Well endowed waitresses and traditional liter beer mugs. Beer was good, food dissappointing. We ordered the 'German Brat', Nuremberg sausages and some kasespaetzl. Food tasted like it had been frozen for...More

So close to being perfect... They just need to get a band that plays "Bayernhymne"! The band could play "Riesengebirgelied" and "Kufsteinlied", but not the State (National) Hymne of Bavaria!!!!

I live in Germantown Wi. We have a many good German restaurants near me and the food at the here was some of the best I had. Beef roast spatzel and there German potato soup stood out the most. Excellent! It was a fun atmosphere...More

It's loud it's a fun atmosphere'so it's friends or couples. Not for business meals or family meals. Bier is cold and plentiful. Thought it was odd that this newer building has a leak in the roof coming into the restaurant that hasn't been fixed. Better...More

I was seated promptly on a week night. I had the Hefweissen which is world-class. I ordered the Bavarian Oktoberfest Brantenteller which is a combination dish with pork roast and sauerbraten (pot roast) with veggies and red cabbage. Very good if not excellent. Parking is...More

Hofbrauhaus Chicago is the first and only German micro brewery, beer hall, restaurant and beer garden to call Chicago home. Modeled after the legendary Hofbrauhaus in Munich, Germany, it takes pride giving you an experience as authentic and unforgettable as the 400-year-old original. Guests can savor schnitzels, sausages, Sauerbraten and pretzels, and some ingredients are even imported from abroad. The freshly brewed beer follows the purity law from 1516 using original recipes handed down by the Duke of Bavaria over 400 years ago. With its beer hall (Schwemme), King Ludwig Room, and Biergarten in summer, it's Oktoberfest every day. Hofbrauhaus Chicago also features live music nightly with bands from Germany and Austria. In addition, you can take a piece of Bavaria home from the gift shop stocked with authentic and unique Bavarian gifts & collectibles.
