So I've been here a couple times and unimpressed. A group of friends wants to go, so begrudgingly I comply. If you have never been, you would probably enjoy it the first time. But having been to the original in Munich, it doesn't come close....More

Thank you for your feedback. I can assure our beer is complies with all recipes and brewing guideline established by Hofbrauhaus Munich. We try to re-create the authentic Bavarian cuisine, but obviously we fell short of your standards and for that we apologize.

Since we moved from NY we have been wanting to find a good biergarten similar to the radgast hall in NY (Brooklyn). This place certainly came close to that. Enjoyed the beer but food wasn't satisfying. I would definitely go there again for the beer...More

Loud, overpriced, and a place to avoid if you aren’t a fan of German food. Yes, okay, I know we went to a German restaurant. However, one would think that you could get a few decent dishes that weren’t 100% German. My hamburger was awful,...More

Ambiance, entertainment, relaxation and good food. It was a unique experience when the alphorn players went to several tables and played their instrument.

I do enjoy this place - the beer is the best part. The Oktoberfest beer they brew and serve during Oktoberfest is possibly my favorite. The food is very average or even below for the price point. You have to be aware of this prior...More

I took my family to this restaurant after hearing about it on the radio. It’s October so Octoberfest was in full swing. What a fun place! Live music, delicious food and beer! The pretzels were amazing. I had the roast pork and it was superb!...More

Yes it is. Sat/sun afternoons the day band gets the kids involved with a parade and chicken dance. We are definitely a family place

Description
Hofbrauhaus Chicago is the first and only German micro brewery, beer hall, restaurant and beer garden to call Chicago home. Modeled after the legendary Hofbrauhaus in Munich, Germany, it takes pride giving you an experience as authentic and unforgettable as the 400-year-old original. Guests can savor schnitzels, sausages, Sauerbraten and pretzels, and some ingredients are even imported from abroad. The freshly brewed beer follows the purity law from 1516 using original recipes handed down by the Duke of Bavaria over 400 years ago. With its beer hall (Schwemme), King Ludwig Room, and Biergarten in summer, it's Oktoberfest every day. Hofbrauhaus Chicago also features live music nightly with bands from Germany and Austria. In addition, you can take a piece of Bavaria home from the gift shop stocked with authentic and unique Bavarian gifts & collectibles.
