A fever dream for any aviation enthusiast. Windows overlooks the ENTIRE AIRFIELD. PERFECT for Planespotting. Spectacular, as usual. We’ve been a dozen times, never had a problem. So many people expect immediate service, but, at a popular restaurant seem to have ZERO patience. The kids do a great job. ALWAYS recommend this place.

Took preschool age grandchild for dinner. Kids pizza is huge! Loved it! Was lucky enough to get a window table: saw 2 planes land and 2 planes takeoff. Broad menu is just different enough to make it a special place. Bar area looked interesting but...that would be on another visit 😊More

Stopped in tonight to try the Summer Salad for June featuring grilled chicken breast, two types of lettuce, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, mandarin oranges, candied walnuts, bleu cheese crumbles and poppyseed dressing. Was great!

Restaurant Review: Affordable, Family-Friendly, Fun As a family of five, we need to be considerate of where we eat; is it affordable, family-friendly, and does it have a variety of menu options? Voted as 1 of the Best "15 Restaurants in Schaumburg" we decided to...try them out for ourselves. First Impressions: The outside has a very clean and spacious look, and to the right side of the building, past the hill, are real planes of a variety of colors. Once we walked inside, we were pleasantly surprised by all the plane décor in the lobby. They creatively used cushy seats formerly used in planes on the left and right sides of the hallway of the waiting area. I really wanted to sit in one, but we were so hungry that it was more important to get seated. Table & Menu: We sat toward the back with a great view of the landing strip and planes through huge windows. The kids love watching the small planes and we got to see a helicopter land and take off! KIDS: the kids' menu is wonderful with a variety of options that all three of my picky kids enjoyed! Nick: enjoyed a Grilled Cheese with French Fries Luke: devoured his Mac 'n Cheese Allie: was delighted with her Buttered Noodles ADULTS: with so many mouth-watering options it was hard to narrow down, plus a majority featured Aviation-inspired kitschy names - it was fun! We started with the Bruschetta appetizer and it was very tasty - the crumbled parmesan cheese on the tomatoes was perfect! Hubby: Sunday special of Caribbean Baby Back Ribs Me: Pete's Avocado Salad We also shared the Pink Bikini drink and the Tipsy Mermaid ~ yummm Server: Our server, Sam, was on time with everything and gave a good run-down of the menu when we were unsure, or just wanted a suggestion. She made sure we were taken care of! The Final Score: - Great first impression - Fun aviation décor - Delicious food - family-friendly (high chairs & changing table in bathroom!) - decent prices that didn't break the bank - kids had fun watching the planes Five Stars, or as Luke said "10 out of 5 stars!"More

We took our 4 year old grandson to Pilot Pete’s for lunch the other day. He had so much fun looking at all of the model planes hanging from the ceiling and looking at the ones parked outside. The staff was so friendly and helpful...to us suggesting where to take him to see more planes. The food was great and we will definitely. Ring him back againMore

Very nice Friday night dinner with two grandparents, two parents, and two young children ages one and three. The waitress was very attentive and on her game. The kids menu was very good, the Friday night fish fry was excellent, and the dinner salads were...done well. The casual atmosphere was good and we had window seats where we could see planes, trains and helicopters - a big hit with the three year old. A highly recommended place to eat.More

The service at the bar was terrible. But worse than that, the oil for the fries and chicken tenders tasted old. Left a sour aftertaste that is still with me several hours later prompting me to white this review. Waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged...at the bar, then menus were dropped off and waited another 20 minutes for water and our drinks. Bartender was busy with making drinks for the restaurant but not any excuse to ignore people. A table of 4 actually got up from the table to relate to bar seats in hopes of getting service after they waited 15 minutes and weren’t acknowledged. Not sure why the ratings are high. The food is unhealthy and service is slow even when you mention that you are in a bit of a hurryMore

First time at Pilot Pete’s and we will definitely be back. They are a little short on staff( like everyone else during Covid) but the staff that was working were hustling to keep glasses filled and food rolling! Alana was a terrific, happy, positive bartender,...which is appreciated when we’re out spending money! Great fish fry with great prices!More

We had a very pleasant drinks & snacks at Pilot Pete's. The drinks were excellent and reasonably priced. We also shared a plate of nachos which were excellent. The bar tenders were charming and professional. Pilot Pete's was very busy and this was around 5pm...on a Saturday. The location is on Irving Park Road at the private airportMore

The people and service was great. The inside is decorated pretty cool and overall the atmosphere is good. The food (fish)was okay and the beer cold. Price was also good. The server and host both did a wonderful job as food came quickly.

Quite a long wait, but once seated the service was good. Everyone ordered the chicken fingers and kids had cheese pizza. The chicken came with garden salad. If we would have known the platter was so large we would have shared. The chicken tenders were...huge, at least 6 of them! The honey mustard was good! Kids liked watching plates come and go from our seating area and from downstairs. An employee even let the kids get up close to an airplane. Nice experience!More

Took my 5 year old grandson because of the theming and view of airport. Inside pretty cool decorations and elevated view of tarmac and runway are nice. My grandson loved watching the few planes that arrived and departed. Maybe not a great barometer of the...food as I got a salad and he got the kids hot dog. I have to say that was no kiddy dog. It was a quality big hot dog. Was going to give a 3 but probably would not have been totally fair because of our menu choices. Will probably give it another try.More
