This is exactly what a country pub with rooms should be. Great atmosphere in the bar, good selection of cask ales and lagers. A not over extensive menu, but something for everyone and all cooked fresh. Good rooms, comfortable bed and good shower. Breakfast again...More

Do not order the vegetarian roast- you literally get 2 blobs of stuffing, a Yorkshire pudding and some overdone roast potatoes. Yes this is what the menu says and I get that all the food is freshly prepared, but seriously, why not just chuck some...More

You ignored the other vegetarian options, chose the cheapest, got exactly what was described on the menu with Cavalo Nero, Parsnip Puree, Chantennay Carrots and Leeks in Cheese Sauce as the vegetables for the day. You were then incredibly rude and proclaimed you were not...More

Food - no other words than excellent, the steaks are especially recommended alongside her delicious Malbec. Beer is quintessential ‘England...More

Unusually quiet for a Saturday evening, this traditional pub has a warm cosy feel to it. There is an excellent menu with some enterprising choices which makes a difference. The food was pretty tasty and although the farsi-inspired curry was accompanied by red rice &...More

I was travelling for business and had a stopover of a couple of days at the King and Queen Hotel. Arriving late in the evening I found that there was a possibility to have dinner at the Pub downstairs. I didn’t mind because it was...More
