Growing up just outside of Chicago, I always heard that "Chicago pizza" was the best. And while there's nothing like the deep-dish style pizza from places like Pizzeria Uno (which started in downtown Chicago), I would say that Chicago's reputation may have been greatly enhanced by the suburban pizza place called "Quonset", located in Waukegan, IL. It's hard to describe... More

I had gone into WalMart and asked the cashier what she thought was the best local pizza and she recommended this place. Another local person approached me and gave me the info on this place. We ordered one with everything and one with extra cheese and had them delivered. They were thin, and my pizza with everything actually seemed to... More

This place has been around over 40 years. I've been there many times for their pizza and it is excellent. The place is in a Quonset (a metal long half-round building) houses the restaurant so you can't do much with the outside appearance. The inside is cozy but with plenty of room. But you go for the pizza and are... More

As Much as I hate to say it its not the same. The pizza never is cooked the same way twic in a row. Tis either soggy or burnt no in between. Its really too bad this was the best pizza around for a long time.

Very good place for thin-crust pizza. Ask for it well-done. Great servers. Also have good sandwiches - bombers, deli-type, etc.

I grew up on the NW side of Chicago and the pizza at the Hut is as good as any I had as a kid. They make their own sausage and it is awesome. The restaurant is really more of a bar and nothing fancy. The menu is also quite limited, so if you don't want pizza or bombers, this... More

Have been a Quonset Pizza follower for 30+ years. I live 20 minutes away but worth the drive. Best thin crust pizza in Lake County. Wait staff is always friendly and attentive. Sandwiches also get 5 stars!

Italian sausage bomber the best i have ever had, the roll has a good crunch to it. I have eaten many! When we have lunch or dinner the order will always have a bomber as an appetizer split up to three ways. If the dinner party is bigger we will order another bomber. Pizza the best in the area, Sauce... More

Absolutely one of the best thin crust pizza's I've ever had. Would definitely return to Quonset Pizza, if I am able to visit the Chicago area again someday.
