My husband and I had lunch here while visiting Chicago. The food and atmosphere was very good. The history of the building is very interesting. Our service was great! We will visit again next time we are in town.

This is sort of like an Irish pub, but done American style. It has all the pub food you wood expect plus Irish beer. Sit downstairs if you can because it has more character. Let me recommend two items on the menu. The first is...More

We were in town and since we had never experienced Irish food decided to give the Irish Lion a try. The pub atmosphere was genuine and the food was a pleasant surprise. I have always liked Shepherd's Pie but had never tried an authentic version....More

I did not like what I got. You have to like Irish food I guess! It was very squeezed together inside! Other than that I had a good time and experience with friends!

Service was outstanding. The Shepherds Pie was excellent. My wife had the lamb burger and she said it was outstanding. Very relaxing.

We went for lunch. They do have a brunch selection, but we decided on the Reuben sandwich. Finished off with Irish whiskey pie for dessert. Both were excellent choices.

The Irish Lion is a Bloomington classic. The have a great selection of whiskeys and good Irish food. Fish & Chips, Coddle, Blarney Balls, and the soda bread are all great.

Another TripAdvisor hit! While we're not beer drinkers, it was clear that anyone who loves beer would have a great time selecting a brew. The food was outstanding, and we enjoyed the old pub-type atmosphere. Go!

Nope. I have never needed reservations to get a table. I would suggest if you had a large party to call in advance, but they have lots of room upstairs to accomodate most folks.
