We went to the new location ( Maplecrest) a few days after it opened. We had not been to the old location. Perhaps because it hadn't been open long, it was very noisy and very busy. There were no tables available but it was so...More

I am not a fan of dry rub ribs, not baled beans. Oh oh oh Ribs, pulled pork, turkey, brisket, beans, corn bread and brisket butt to die for. 2 days later we are still talking about it.

Shigs in Pit is one of the best BBQ places I've ever been too, and I've been to some of the best. To start out, they use St. Louis style ribs which are the best ribs to eat. Then they use a very good rub...More

Finger licking good. Their ribs are smoked and delicious. They offer several sauces to add on them to make them to make them how you prefer. The sides are good too. Can't wait for the new one on Maplecrest Rd to open.

Excellent BBQ. IMHO great BBQ does not require added sauce to be good. This one exceeds my standards. The meat is properly smoked with a great flavored rub. Cooked to perfection and the ribs were falling off the bone. Nice selection of sides too. Very...More

Overall a good pulled pork at reasonable prices. We came here based on its TripAdvisor ranking and were pleasantly surprised. The pulled pork was extremely tender and not heavily smoked. All of the sauces were delish. The corn bread was on the moist side. I...More

We stopped because of the name and enjoyed a wonderful lunch! I had pulled pork and my partner had burnt ends, that he enjoyed enough to get a pound to go.

Description
Shigs in Pit started as a competition BBQ team composed of Mad Anthony owners, Todd Grantham and Jeff Neels along with their friend Stefan Kelley, a networks services manager for Logikos. Within a few short years the team amassed Eleven Kansas City Barbecue Society Grand Championships, Five Reserve Grand Championships and numerous other awards for their smoked meats. In 2012, Grantham and Neels (with the blessing of Kelley) along with Mad Anthony Brewing Company partner Blaine Stuckey opened a restaurant and catering business with their award-winning recipes at the corner of Fairfield and Taylor in Fort Wayne. Shigs in Pit Barbeque is a proud sister company to Mad Anthony Brewing Company.
