This is a gorgeous, historic icon, in a wonderful area. However it stinks so bad of cigarette smoke, it is sickening. I mean unless you love the smell of old stale tobacco saturated carpet and walls, unless you love to smoke and want to inhale free tobacco chemicals, don't go in this place. Everyone in our party had an instant... More

I stopped into this grand saloon yesterday, it was like stepping back into the past. What great ambiance. Built in the mid 1800's the place has both a 19th and 20th century feel. The bar is magnificently crafted and well maintained. The bar tender was knowledgeable and the beer selection is quite good. Special events are held often to prompt... More

This is a great bar experience except for the smoking. I loved the atmosphere, the big old wooden bar and the entertainment. I didn't like the smoke filled air. Probably would not go back.

You can't beat the vintage setting without pretense. And to drink a Zombie Dust at the same time? This is definitely the spot!

The original bar circa 1891 crafted by Dutchmen. Great place to unwind at the end of the day. Cigar friendly on one side. Frequented by internationally famous people like David Saborn, Al Capone and Hans Homburg.

This place lays claim to being the oldest bar in Indiana. I think the Slippery Noodle Inn in Indy makes the same claim. Either way this is a history filled bar. The bar is very clean and well maintained. The bar allows smoking on one side of it, so if you have issues with that this might not be the... More

Went for my birthday, first bar. I liked the atmosphere. I had a gummy margarita and my husband had a chocolate mint margarita I liked his a lot better than mine. It was clean. The bartender was nice. We went during the day so there wasn't a big crowd. Didn't eat food. I like the atmosphere. Overall nice enjoyable place.

I've visited this place several times. It is a historic bar. They do have smoking on one side of the bar and the other is non smoking. We are not smokers and never had a problem sitting on the smoking side. They often have music. Service is okay most of the time but this is a college town too so... More

A place like this never goes out of style, and I hope it's always around for people who want to explore historic Lafayette. The bar looks like it's out of an old movie, and there's such a neat atmosphere.
