This was our first visit and we were impressed. We both had combos so we could try a lot of things. Enjoyed everything. Very nice atmosphere, service and value. Loved it.

Great choice of a food stop when passing through Lowell. Charming Tuscan decor, fine food and nicely presented, good service. Will stop again.

We've been to McVeys many times and it's always been good. But this time we took two of our children who had never been there before and will not go back. The server was pathetically slow and uncaring we spent over 2 hours here and watched many other people come and go during that time. The steaks were not cooked... More

Good people good friends, excellent food. We each had steak with shrimp, steak and ribs, or steak and fish. Nice way to try 2different dishes in one visit. You get slaw and bean salad served to your table along with bread. Everything was good. No complaints from our table, food was great!

Harken back to the days when you drove on a state highway and stumbled upon a small town restaurant with unexpectedly spectacular food prepared with care and served by folks who treat you like you have been invited to dine in their home. The bartender not only engages in the lively art of conversation but buys a drink for gosh... More

We made arrangements for an after funeral dinner at McVey's this last weekend. It was very last minute for 40 people on a Saturday night. The owner/chef was very accommodating. On a Saturday night he was ready for all of us. We were given a choice of family style, but chose to have a limited menu available to our guests.... More

A week ago we stopped at McVey's on Sunday for lunch. They have a broasted chicken special (1/2 chicken) that is nothing short of excellent. This special comes with a salad, choice of potato with sides of cole slaw, bean salad, and breads. We ended up taking "doggie bags" home as we couldn't finish the chicken. We have also had... More

We were at this fine restaurant for a wedding rehearsal dinner a few days ago. They have delightful food and great service! First we had garlic toast, salad, and fresh bread. The entrees were crab cakes (I heard they were delicious), a pork dish, and I had chicken penne (with plenty of melted cheese on top!). The only sad thing... More

The food was good and the atmosphere was generally fine. I liked the main street location where you can park and enter from the front or back parking lot. The only bad thing I have to say is the long wait times, both for the waitress to take our order and for the food to be served. I've been to... More
