It amazes me that a small family restaurant can put together such a great welcoming environment and spectacular food! Great job!!!

I admit I feel bad about writing a bad review for this institution. I ate here as a kid and was in town this past weekend for lunch. I will start with the good. The staff! Moving on. The booths puzzle me. My wife and...I are small and we could barely fit in one of them. I don't think three people should be sat at a booth. The tables are awkwardly placed right in the center of the room also. The salad bar is dated and the lettuce did not seem all that fresh. I really don't understand why they have chips to be honest. I ordered their signature spaghetti and I wish I hadn't. Pasta was overcooked and bland. The sauce was flavorless and the meat had a strange texture. The regular portion is WAY too much food and results in waste. I understand tradition, but the same ole same ole just isn't good enough anymore. American tastes have changed.More

Took my oldest friend and his daughter to dinner after several hours in a funeral home across the street. They seated us quickly. Good server and great food. One of the best restaurants in Clinton Iowa judging by the reviews, and rightly so. Parking lot...next to the restaurant.More

Friendly, attentive staff, but all four in our party ordered pasta dishes and three of four were very disappointed. Brown, flavorless meat sauce in the lasagna, starchy, flavorless Alfredo sauce on the cheese ravioli, and the Wild Mushroom Ravioli was swimming in oil. There was...nothin special at all about the salad bar. The people of Clinton deserve to have a venerable spot like this be really good. Right now it’s not.More

We were looking for a slightly upscale meal for our anniversary. Our Rastrelli's experience started out bad and got worse. We were escorted to our table by a host who bellowed all the way to our table in a plain room with few tables and...kitchen noise, including a few shouts. Our waitress had a booming voice, too, might have been following the host's lead. I am sure her voice carried to adjoining rooms. She was new to the job. The waitress and diners just behind me spoke in restaurant voices, we could tell they were speaking, but could not understand what they said. Kudos to them. Wished we had that waitress until she dropped a dish on my wife's foot. Never had that happen before. Our waitress had to return to the table to clarify our order. Food, when it arrived was very good, my steak was tasty and cooked to my requested doneness. We were pestered by a fly that we could not get rid of throughout our meal. Not a good time for us at all. I know they can do better.More

I was visiting my mother, in Clinton. Her brother, was in-town as well; who I hadn't seen in six years!! On Sunday, I had wanted to take them somewhere nice; for brunch. Rastrelli's, was recommend! I called & spoke, with a man. He told me,...brunch was served; until 1:00 pm. Told him, we were a party of three & wanted to come at 12:30 pm. I asked, if there would still be a good selection of "foods"; particularly "soups" & "greens". He told me, definitely!!! Also, that they replenish everything; up until 1:00 pm. Once we arrived & were seated, I found this not to be the case!! No "soups" and/or "greens", as promised!!! (note: one of the reasons, we had decided to come; in the first place). Bacon, sausage gravy & biscuits weren't replenished; even though I asked!!! Food, we were able to eat; was just ok! Service, was average; at best!! Our server, was nice; but not very helpful! Overall, big disappointment & not an enjoyable experience!!! I would not go back and/or recommend!!!More

We love the homemade soup and the salad bar during the summer months. They have a nice lunch menu. The pizza and pasta are their specialty. Great employees also!

I actually had this experience at Rastrelli's in the fall of 2017 and I have never gone back. My friend and I arrived around 7ish and the buffet was suggested to us. We went into the room and helped ourselves to the pizza etc. The...food was cold and had been sitting under the warming lights for too long. A few minutes after we came in a couple of guys came in and sat down. About 10 minutes later restaurant staff came into the room, ran the vacuum and moved tables and chairs around. We thought that they closed at 8:30 but they actually closed at 8. At 5 minutes to 8 the lady from the front desk ran into the room yelling at us and telling us we had to leave NOW! The other guys and we got up and were rushed out by this lady who was now yelling that we needed to exit out the door in that section of the restaurant. The lady was rude and acted somewhat unbalanced plus the food was cold and awful.More

Well last week my wife and myself went to this restaurant. The wife won a Gift Card for this place and had a pretty good meal. We also had a couple beers with our meal. I almost feel on the floor when I got the...bill. A bottle of beer cost $4.75 for one single bottle of beer. I have never paid that much for a bottle of beer at any restaurant I have ever been to. The most I ever paid was $3.00 for a bottle. In other words when I go there again it will just be water.More
