Brother ordered The Jethro. It was huge, and he couldn't eat it all. Very good place to eat. All got something different we were all happy.

If you like bbq you'll LOVE Jethro's. This site is still our favorite Jethro's, but the West Des Moines "Bacon Extravaganza" Jethro's is fast rising. Portions are large and the service is great!
This place was awesome when it opened but these days the emphasis seems to be on speed and turning tables as fast as possible rather than food quality Pre-cooked, cold fries and gristly meats are all too common. Customers keep knocking the doors down so don't expect quality to improve any time soon. Try one of the many other local... More
Always have good fast service and the food tastes good too. My preference is almost always brisket and Jethros is good
Ate BBQ last night in North Carolina, tasty. Ate BBQ tonight in Des Moines IA AT THE BEST BBQ JOINT NATIONWIDE that I have been to. I ordered a full rack with mac and cheese. The ribs were great with no sauce. However I used the hot and jethro. Not disappointed. If you are in town this is a MUST!... More
The atmosphere screams world class bbq. The food does the rest. This is simply the best bbq in Iowa. We had 3 orders of full racks, 3 tubs of beans, and 6 mac n cheese. The two of us were well sated upon completion.
We hesitated to go in due to the parking lot being so full but were glad we did. The restaurant actually had several empty seats. Four of us had a great meal - sharing different items from the menu. The food was exceptional, prices reasonable and our server was friendly.

1st time here, parking lot packed but had a lot of open tables. I was promptly seated, but waited 15 mins before being asked for a drink. I ordered fried pickles , they had a kick but they were good. I ordered 1/2 rack of baby back ribs with fries and Mac cheese. Ribs were excellent, fries had good taste... More
We went to Jethro's because we were hungry for barbeque and wanted to try it. It was very good and the restaurant was packed so that speaks well of it.

In regards to the minimal negative comments..."Ribs were dry." I have to ask. Is that because they use a dry rub and don't serve wet style ribs? I noticed they serve their sauces on the side at the table. Not trying to question your rib integrity, just curious though.
