We always get a great meal at L. May. The most recent trip we enjoyed a pizza, and you can't go wrong with that! We really love the atmosphere here, too!

On a weekend getaway, stayed in Dubuque and were looking for something different. Found L May on TripAdvisor. Great experience. Totally fresh ingredients, service was great, staff very attentive and friendly. My wife discovered a fun new martini (Elder greyhound martini). Would definitely return.

The food and the atmosphere encourage good ole midwest conversation. I rarely like to go out but when I do, you'll likely find me here.

This restaurant is charming -- it's relatively large, but divided in a way that makes each section feel cozy. Delicious food, and good service. An unexpected foodie location in Dubuque.

We had a great dinner last night for an impromptu family reunion. We were seated in a cozy downstairs space. Food and service were both excellent. Really enjoyed the mussels appetizer.
