I can't believe how many negative reviews this place has! I live on the North Side of Dubuque, and this is the only Chinese restaurant on our end of town that delivers - literally! The lemon chicken and crabmeat rangoons are amazing, I can't say enough positive things about this place. I've never actually dined in the restaurant, but if... More

My only complain is the music. There must have been a club next door because I could hear their music. The restaurant could at least have played music of their own to drown it out. Other that that, the food was good and our server was nice.

I lived/worked in Dubuque some years ago, downtown, and Yen Ching was (and I hope, still is) fantastic. They had a hot and sour soup that would knock your socks off. I've yet to find a place that can match them in flavor and heat. Their selection was wide, their prices fair, and their quality extremely high.

I'd say the Yen Ching is in line with the nicer Asian restaurants in Dubuque. Menu is similar, nice helpful lady serving, decent location with good parking nearby (maybe a block away). On the down side; restroom was shabby and from what I could see of the kitchen looked like it could have been a bit neater. Main part of... More

If you're in the mood for Asian cooking, this place won't disappoint you. They've got it hot and spicy and sweet and sour. They'll give you pork, beef, chicken or a combination of all three. They have seafood, great appetizers like crab rangoon and egg rolls. Eat in or take it home; either way it will satisfy your hunger.

Yen Ching is a chain of forgetable Chinese restaurants. It is over-priced and the quality is at best mediocre. The ambiance at this location is nothing special and while I consider the employees hard working and dedicated, this is not a place beckoning a return visit anytime soon. I am fortune enough to have the best Chinese Restaurant close at... More

Our kids usually love any crab rangoon, but these were very greasy and strangely tough. Lunch entrees were average, but the fried rice served with the entrees tasted stale, like leftovers reheated.

I usually eat here at lunch. Very good - Soup, won tons, egg rolls, all very good and reasonably priced as well. Never usually a wait either. They get you in and out of there. I recommend the egg drop soup!

This restaurant has been a family favorite for years. The best Chinese food we have had anywhere. You can actually tell the chicken is really chicken! The only real thing I would complain about is the decor. Hasn't been updated in years. A good cleaning and decluttering would make a real difference.

The Yen Ching has the best Chinese in Dubuque. The egg drop soup is thick with nice noodles and veggies. I do however wish they would make a hot and sour soup. Please!!!!!! I always get the princess prawns extra spicey. The won-ton is ok. Hot tea on a cold day warms you up.
