We love the pizza here. It is thin crust. It is always busy when we go. You can buy some and take home to bake also. The place is nothing fancy but the pizza makes up for it. You get to watch them make the pizza. It is all out in the open so you know exactly what is going... More

We enjoyed trying Pagliai's for the first time...charming little place but clean and efficient. Pizza was great--we enjoyed sausage and green pepper. We bought a large one and my husband polished almost all of it...plan on ordering plenty.

The Pizza is great and it is fun to actually watch them bake it! The sitting space is limited so if you have a large group, you need to call first to assure that seating is available. Free parking across the street is an added advantage. Great place for families and children. Booster chairs are also available.

Pizza done right! We ordered a cheese Pizza and a pizza with beef olives and mushrooms. Not a slice left on the table at the end of the meal. Crust - perfectly thin and just crispy enough but not burnt. The sauce is their but doesn't over power the pie. All the ingredients were fresh. A definate "return to" place... More

My friends and I have been enjoying their thin crust - extra sauce palace supreme (I believe that is what it's called) for almost 40 years - it is the perfect pizza. I'm from the East Coast and I'm Italian - so trust me - I know of what I speak!

The pizza tasted better than average but the price is too high for what you get, especially there are a lot of UI students live around that area!

This pizza comes closest to Mabe's pizza for those of you from Northeast Iowa. Love the square cut palace special. Only thing missing - a side of cheesebread.

Pagliai's is an above average pizza place. There is really nothing negative I can say about it. The pies are good with a wide variety of choices. They also have frozen to go. It is a well established restaurant in Iowa City and a favorite of many people I've talked with including my wife. I however have a different favorite.... More

Yes, Pagliai's has been in Iowa City for a long time. But that doesn't mean their pizza is extraordinary, or too expensive, and that they won't nickel and dime you for everything. Every senior in Iowa City is in there. It's cramped, and not family friendly. And for a college town pizza place, it's incredibly expensive for pizzas that are... More
