Best home made wild rice soup. Ribs are so, so good. Ribs are very tender and easy to eat off the bone.

Went here twice now, once on move-out day and once on move-in day for my son, who attends University of Iowa. The food is so, so good, and the staff is so nice and friendly! Will be back!

One of the best barbecue places to eat in Iowa City! Most of us had the brisket and tried several of the sauces they have available. We also got the cheese curds, that were awesome! I would give them a shot if you haven't tried...More

I eat at Pop’s about twice a month. Compared to Jimmy Jack’s, which is another Iowa City BBQ that I’ve also visited often, both are good. I prefer Pop’s meat and Jimmy Jack’s sides, but the difference is not great. The service is good and...More

The ribs are very good. Tasty, juicy, and tender. They have a smoky flavor and three sauces to choose from, my favorite is the classic. The menu is not extensive, about what you would expect from a local barbecue place. Ribs ordered by the number...More

Found this place about 6 weeks ago and make a point to drive there every couple weeks. Great food, fair prices and we always buy extra to take home leftovers!

Good food, EXTREMELY poor catering service, and unprofessional management. We chose Pop's to cater our wedding because we love the food there. In spite of our guest's rave reviews about the food (for just a lunch or casual dinner this place is awesome), the catering...More

This is a cozy place, not fancy but comfortable. All the usual bbq dishes are available: ribs, chicken, pork, and brisket. You can order 4 bone,6 bone,10 bone,or full slab of ribs. The ribs are big and meaty, and for me 4 were plenty. Several sauces to choose from;...More

Driving down Market Street on a rainy early evening we caught the sweet smell of barbecue smoke and were drawn irresistibly toward it . . . I had a good burnt ends sandwich; my wife thought her brisket sandwich was average. I liked the blackberry...More
