We chose this pub simply as it was a midway location for a pre-Christmas family meal. It turned out to be a happy choice . The staff member who took the phone booking was very friendly and efficient ,as was the waitress who served us at the meal. The bar and restaurant areas were beautifully decorated for Christmas using tasteful... More

What can I say to portray the combination of great hospitality and great food? Quite simply that this was the the perfect English pub experience. I enjoyed a perfectly cooked lamb shank and sampled four other dishes too! All beautiful flavours, and in such a warm and welcoming setting. I have to mention how much this establishment cares for the... More

We continue to go to the Old Olive Bush because it's simply the best and they never disappoint. Oh!! Except when they're full up and you can't book. Very good with GlutenFree food as well.

Selected the Old Olive Bush after reading tripadvisor. And not disappointed. Dad said "the best gammon and chips ever" I went for a pie and that was simply superb. Service excellent, setting was great. Beer, Hobgoblin, perfect. Thank you.

Quality Fair and proprietors , could do with a better stock of Single malt whiskey. The food is excellent quality in this quaint English village pub.

We popped into the Old Olive Bush after a walk along the Oxford canal near Flecknoe. We were really impressed with the renovated decor, friendly welcome and great food. Excellent beers and an impressive wine list as well. We all ordered one of the homemade options as they do steak and ale pies, quiche etc. The only recommendation I can... More

We are really pleased that you enjoyed the beer and food and I am sorry that your vegetarian friends were left short on choices. I do have a selection of vegetarian food that is not on the menu. I can only assume the waitress was unaware that members of your party were vegetarians and a further choice was not offered.... More

I visited the Old Olive Bush with friends and feel compelled to comment. Unlike a previous review, I found the quaint old fashioned country pub look refreshing in this day of polished wood floors and pretentious fancy food. My friend's wife had the steak and ale pie and raved about it being the best pie she had had for years.... More

Thank you for your kind review and your support for tradition. I can assure you that the scampi will never be taken off the menu, it is one of our best sellers! We look forward to seeing you again soon. More

If you are looking for a gourmet experience this is not for you but if you want good straightforward food at a very fair price then this is for you. A particular speciality is the homemade main course pies. Flecknoe is off the beaten track but a charming village with The Old Olive Bush at its heart. The pub is... More

This pub is definitely one of my favourites for a pub lunch. It serves a proper traditional, delicious pub food and the surrounding village and countryside are beautiful. The Sunday roast is amazing and also the pies. The dessert menu changes all the time - try the cheesecake or pecan pie if you get a chance. And the cheese board.... More

Thank you for your review, we are delighted you enjoy the food we serve here. The only lunchtime that we serve food these days is a Sunday. Our Sunday Roast is as popular as ever and the home made pies are available Wednesday to Saturday evenings along with our traditional pub food menu. We hope you are able to visit... More
