We called in here for dinner on Sunday on the way back from Tunbridge Wells. There was a welcoming log fire and we were served and shown to a table straightaway even though they were busy. Lovely roast, friendly staff and a warm and cosy...More

This is a truly beautiful building in a lovely location with a fabulous garden. Unfortunately, the food is mediocre and certainly not worth the prices charged. My friend had the guinea fowl with a very gloopy sauce without any flavour to speak of. My pigeon...More

Been a couple of times mid week summer lunch in the garden and the conservatory, enjoyed our visits with the family. However, Sunday lunch today was somewhat disappointing. Had booked but shown to small enclosure at one end of the building with one table for...More

This is a lovely old building with loads of character but we've been twice in the last three months and the food is just very very average. My rib eye syteak looked great and was cooked perfectly ( medium rare) but it had no flavour...More

Food was good service slow and a bit disinterested, and on a quiet night. At least they do Sunday dinner. Most places in TW area, especially pubs, don't. Only do burgers "well done"? I know the "not less than medium" reason but never heard only well...More

On our first visit we ordered sea bream and ham, egg and chips as our mains. Along came two ham, egg and chips! They took them back saying there was a mix-up with the order. We had to wait a further twenty minutes before the...More

I'm sure they can. Book ahead & they will reserve a space for you. There are a few nooks which would be ideal for private parties.

Oh Boy that is difficult. We only wanted a table for 2 near a fire and I can not remember the number. The main entrance passes directly to the bar so we took a table by the window of the far side of the fire island. The... More
