Visited today for lunch. Nice old pub, friendly staff. Decent wine but food was a bit disappointing. I had the shepherds pie which tasty but small, side dish was cabbage and two pieces of carrot, not over impressed. My partner had the special of the day, fish & chips. Large piece of fish which was very nice but chips were over cooked and a... More
Visited the Dove Inn last Sunday having been there a few times and I have to say that it can vary, which can be annoying! Once went there on a quiet weekday and very disappointed that they ran out of sausages and mash. We recently decided to give it another go and have revisited twice now for Sunday lunch with... More
I am new to Tripadvisor but feel compelled to write about how disappointed I was after a visit to this supposedly Gastro Pub... I read in the local paper about The Dove at Dargate and thought let's give the Sunday Roast a try- turned up by chance and and they managed to fit us in last Sunday, the starter menu... More
Not one to moan but this was a very lacklustre roast dinner. Nothing to write home about at all. The pork was poor and bland and veg was nothing special. Overpriced. Could honestly say I've had a better roast dinner at a cheap carvery. Served by very unenthusiatic and unattentive member of staff - felt like we'd been forgotten about.... More

The cod and chips on the adjoining table looked generous and the cottage pie as well as Camembert on ours... More
Highly recommended country pub for wining and dining. A group of us ate at the Dove last Friday evening and we had a super time. It's such a great venue for a cosy yet special meal - the log fire was burning, the staff were welcoming and the menu was appetising. My baked camembert starter, confit duck leg main course... More
Another great meal at The Dove! Four of us ate and all had different starters, main course and sweets and all were superb.
We visited The Dove for lunch after a long walk with our dog. Such a nice pub with very friendly staff and a good lunch menu. The landlady came out to chat and our dog was delighted when she gave her some beef! They also serve good wine by the glass. We have already booked to return for a Sunday... More
