This is definitely not fast food restaurant. Take your time and look around while your meal is beginning prepared. Lot's of history. The money made from the meals helps keep the museum open. A unique menu of tasty food and a history of the dish. I enjoyed Croque monsieur. Ham and Swiss with cheddar and walnuts on the top. Tasty... More

I decided to stop here because I'm camping at it has been raining for days. Looked on Trip Advisor and the place seemed interesting. All I can say is, how cool!!! It was an experience more than a meal. I travel a lot and have never come across anywhere like this place. Simply fantastic food and history lessons. If you're... More

We just had ice cream so can't comment on the food much. They run the cafe to help support the museum. Very well restored.

This café has far better food than the famous Hays House. You can get native American food such as buffalo and elk; French and Swedish food; and early American (ham and beans and cornbread). The Buffalo Sloppy Joes are very tasty. Great desserts as well. Plus, the "proprietor" will tell you the history of the 1861 stone building and Council... More

This historic building was saved and restored for posterity by the current owners who also are wonderful hosts. We were given a delightful and most interesting tour from basement to 2nd story 1800's cozy bedroom. Mr. McClintock himself is a great reason to stop here. We will go back to eat there when we pass this way again.

This restaurant and museum is in a restored house along the Santa Fe trail. The proprietors dress in period clothes and tell stories about the history of the place and area. The food was ok (the iced tea was not). After you Earp, you can go upstairs to see the rest of the Ouse.

This visitor described the tea as "not" ok. The iced tea we serve contains a portion of black cherry berry herbal tea, so we call it "iced cherry tea". It is not cherry flavored, like a cherry Coke, or sweet, but it does have a distinctive taste, which draws many compliments from our diners. But we acknowledge that there are... More

At the end of our visit to Council Grove, we stopped at Trail Days Cafe and Museum for a late lunch.. When we arrived, the restaurant had two other parties eating lunch and a large table of dirty dishes greeted us before we were able to be seated. The room was cozy and our table was cleared quickly and thoroughly... More

My wife and I had dinner at Trail Days. The menu is not extensive, but features local historically themed dishes (I had roast elk, succotash, and Indian baked bread). Our food was quite good, although heated in a microwave.

My husband stays away from anything that has "cafe" in the name, so when he suggested we try this place I jumped at the chance. It is a circa 1860's historical home on the residential side of town (on Main Street). Upon walking in the door, I thought it was going to be more formal (and expensive) than we were... More
