If you're really passionate about wine tasting - this is your place!

As a couple that has recently taken up the wine tasting hobby, it was great to be in a place that had the proper lighting and backdrop for really analyzing the wine at hand. There were so many flights to choose from, and our server was well versed in each of those wine's stories. We know some of what we like, and he was able to make recommendations based on that. We were also able to try wines by the glass that would not generally be offered on a per glass basis. I enjoyed a glass of a $400 wine without the weighted expense. The food paired with the wine we had was amazing - the flavor profiles were complex and pleasing. We are looking forward to going back soon.

Vintage 78 holds itself to a rigid standard for it's food, wine, and service -- the highest possible level of excellence. No compromises have been made in the selection and presentation of the food, the 100+ wines by the glass, or even the glassware and decanters. Everything is as close to perfect as possible. Not surprisingly, the owners and creators of this experience are always present.

Best Wine by The Glass in the World!

Our favorite spot in KC! We visit for date night, girls nights, special celebration and just because. Chris is awesome service, we always ask for him. I brought my friend for her first visit and she loved it. The quality of the wine selection paired with approachable, non-pretentious education about the wines. A diverse cheese list and the fixed menu and wine pairings on Sunday and Monday are an incredible value.

Best Wine Spot in Town!

Vintage 78’ is truly my happy place. Michael and Megan have created an amazing environment to truly unwind and enjoy some amazing and unique wine! The food is top notch with a wide variety, I Have yet to try something that did not quickly become a future craving. I highly recommend any of the wine flights, mushroom toast, any of the pastas and of course the sticky toffee pudding!!!

What an incredible jewel we have right here in Overland Park, If this place was in New York it would be a harder table to get than Rao's. Michael and his team of experts are gracious beyond words and Chef Kyle has to be the best Chef in town. No disappointment here. If you are looking for a small neighborhood type place to dine than you will not beat Vintage 78 Wine Bar period! Kudos to all. Would like to figure out what the paintings on the wall represent on our next visit.

Vintage78 is a comfortable, friendly place for a solo woman to have a glass of wine and feel safe and welcome. As a newcomer to Overland Park from San Francisco,, I could not have found a more charming and knowledgeable staff. I felt at home immediately.

Great selection of wine and cheese!

We enjoyed our first time experience at Vintsge 78! The flights and wine selection was incredible! The owner, Michael, was so full of information, very accommodating, and a delight. The food specials were amazing. I had a pasta special, scallop special, and a cheesy bread. He paired the wines with my food selection. Lucky for us, we had his undivided attention on a Sunday, but expect it to be different ext time, as word gets around. Can’t wait to go back.

Good food - good wine - good time!

I love this spot! The staff is so knowledgeable and I learn something every time I go. The one time I ate here the food was incredible! Counting down the days until I can return! If you like good wine and good food this is a must!

This place and the staff are FANTASTIC. One of the best selections in Johnson County-can’t say enough about the eclectic collection Michael and Megan have assembled. A great place for small plates, top-notch cheeses, and fantastic conversation. Can’t recommend this place any higher!

Absolutely amazing. Learned a ton about wine, our server was amazing. The owner was awesome and down to earth. The food was mouth watering. Going back this month! Great spot to have fun, unwind, get teleported to Europe. Slow down, savor the flavors. Amazing.
