Outstanding meal. Hubby and I decided to visit La Cuisine Robicheau for lunch. We arrived just as the doors opened and were welcomed with a smile. After looking over the menu we made our choices. I ordered the appetizer size of pan seared scallops, with...the appetizer size Caesar salad. Hubby ordered the house speciality.. Robicheau's Au Gratin Special: 6 scallops covered with hot creamed lobster, and sprinkled with mozzarella cheese and broiled, along with an appetizer sized Caesar as well. We were both thoroughly delighted with our choices. My scallops were cooked to perfection...seared and brown on the outside, still moist and tender on the inside. The Caesar salad with its house made dressing was wonderful and the house made tartar sauce was the best I have ever eaten. The star of the meal was hubby's Au Gratin special. The scallops were bubbling under their blanket of creamed lobster and cheese. The meal is served with a fresh dinner roll to make sure you can mop up every morsel of that tasty sauce. We are already planning our return visit!More

I had the scallop dinner and my wife had the beet salad with a side order of scallops. This is scallop country so it was time to load up. All well done but I do wish the food was a little hotter.

Thank you for your rating and comments. Sorry you found your meal a bit on the cold side.Perhaps a mention to your server could have fixed this problem. Hopefully this won’t be a disappointment to giving us another visit someday.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of our airbnb and it did not disappoint, a beautiful location overlooking the water, while not fancy inside you feel like you are having supper in their home. Perfectly prepared good home cooked meals. Generous!! portions...which we also felt were very reasonably priced . One of my friends is gluten free and it was not an issue at all, make sure not to skip dessert though or you will be missing out the pies and cheesecakes are incredible. The owner looked after us, she was so friendly and we really enjoyed our conversations with her. Our only regret was that we were not staying longer so we could go again. Can't wait to go back next summer. I have no problem recommending this little gem to others but best to make a reservation it is a busy spot and very popular with the locals as well.More

Four of us visiting the Digby area had dinner here on Wednesday. It was difficult to get a reservation. We called at 9:00 AM and got the last table. The owner was our waitress and she was so friendly. We felt like we were in...her home for dinner. The seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. Portions were VERY generous! Don’t expect some high brow Michelin Star dishes. These are good wholesome family style meals. Make sure you leave room for dessert. The pies and cheese cakes are out of this world! An interesting aside, they don’t serve wine but you can bring your own.More

If this is the best in southwest ns, then I’d hate to think what the others are like. Imagine old fashioned British cooking and that’s what you get. Had the tiger shrimp(ok) served with overcooked carrots and frozen peas. Don’t know another place on the...planet that would serve seafood with peas and carrots. Still shaking my head about it. Reception at the door was like we were an inconvenience and the table service was not much better. Helpful hint- east at the shack outside- better food, friendlier service.More

We had reservations (usually required) for early evening 4:30pm, so no waiting, we were promptly seated. Service was excellent. Fish Chowder was the best I had on my NS trip, lots of seafood and tasty broth. Scallop and Fish dishes were very good. Coconut Custard...pie as awesome (like 1/4 of the pie), but we took that to our motel to enjoy with our tea sitting outside on the cool evening). Was a pleasant experience.More

First visit in three years due to COVID travel restrictions. Still the same wonderful restaurant it has always been. Run by an incredibly hardworking and friendly local couple, the dining rooms are downstairs of an old Acadian home. Menu seldom varies, but that's good, because...if they removed something you'd be disappointed. Emphasis on local seafood. Musical kitchen parties one night a week.More

We have been dining at this restaurant since we discovered it in 2000 when Chef Paul was providing wonderful fresh seafood and a home-like atmosphere. Nadine and her husband have since expanded the space and the menu and made the restaurant our top destination when...hosting visiting guests. Between the delicious food, the friendly service, and the beautiful views, every guest has been more than thrilled to experience this splendid taste of local Nova Scotia cuisine. This summer, I have made 5 reservations and I am looking forward to eating my favorite dish (haddock with creamed lobster) every time. Merci to all of you at La Cuisine Robicheau!More

We had supper the evening before our departure for Ontario, Saturday 4 Sep 2021. My wife, Mother-in-law, my cousin and her husband and I treated ourselves to a evening of great food at this restaurant. The seafood dishes here are FANTASTIC. I raved to my...M-I-L that she would absolutely love their seafood chowder, and they did not disappoint. I had the Rapure (Rappie Pie), of course. My wife had the fisherman's platter (is it NOT deep fried). My cousin had the only chicken dish (which she said was awesome) and her hubby had the scallop dinner. EVERYTHING was prepared to order, it arrived hot and NOTHING is deep-fried. Summary: absolutely delicious. NOTE: Some people have mentioned the slow service. This is NOT an issue. If you are in a rush, go eat at McDonald's. I repeat: EVERYTHING is made to order. Note 2: There is NO liquor license - BUT you can do the BYOB, there is no uncorking fee. If you want great seafood, made to order and extremely friendly down-home service, THIS is the place you want to visit. Note 3: you may want to make a reservation as this place is popular and is busy most evenings. Enjoy, I know we did.More

We were seated on the patio looking out at the ocean with the sun slowly setting. A great location. The service while very slow the staff was very pleasant. The menu is mostly sea food with a chicken dish. The were out of beef. I...had the mixed seafood which was scallops & haddock. It was served with cooked vegetables that tasted like they had just bee picked. My seafood dish was wonderful and very large. We all loved our dinners. Seemed to be family run. The restaurant does not serve liquor so you can bring your own wine or beer. Very good desserts as well, Highly recommended.More
