I dined here recently with my partner to celebrate an anniversary. It sadly failed to meet our expectations ; in a nutshell - food OK or average but overpriced (smallish fillet steak £20.95). We should have known better - on a nice Saturday evening at 7.45 there was a grand total of 3 couples eating, plus a few locals drinking... More

Our visit was OK but rather bland, the food was average however we felt it was a little overpriced. Nothing more to say.

Called on our way back from walking the Stiperstones. It was quiz night so the pub was busy but despite looking slightly harassed the barman dealt efficiently warning us of a 15 minute delay due to party bookings. Food arrived after a short while and was excellent. Starter of bread had a pleasant surpise with chocolate chips in one of... More

Visited this weekend (annual visit when holidaying in the area) Over the last 4 years the place has improved massively, serving quite excellent food and real ales so this visit was greatly anticipated as an integral part of the “Shropshire Weekend” What a let down. From the start something was clearly “wrong”. Despite the booking having been made well in... More

Me and my best friend enjoyed a lovely stay at the white horse. The area is absolutley stunning...a great place to switch off. The service and accomodation was really good. We were made to feel very welcome and would defintely look to visit again.

This is an old country inn with a few rooms, with a large restaurant attached for overflow on busy nights or functions. The owners are very friendly, there's a good ranges of drinks, including real ales and the food is truly excellent. Its situated on the Longden Road around 7 miles South-west of Shrewsbury, but well worth the drive.

We stayed for two nights at this lovely country village pub where we could not have been made to feel more welcome when we arrived. Lovely staff and a breakfast to keep us going throughout the day. and as a bonus, a great bunch of friendly locals at the bar in the evenings. Definitely going again!

I was at the White Horse with Shropshire friends. The restaurant on a Thursday night was almost deserted. I chose the chicken with black pudding. The chicken was meaty and too much for me to eat. The black pudding as coated balls was not what I expected. One of my friends had battered fish which arrived and was very overcooked.... More
