The food is OK but when it says "homemade" I don't expect frozen roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings.

As locals we were sad when the Six Bells closed last year but very relieved when it reopened with a new landlord and landlady. The pub has always had a great welcoming atmosphere but the new team have spent a lot of time and effort repairing behind the scenes, cleaning and refurbishing the interior to what can only be described... I used to like going to this pub as not many proper pubs like it left! The food was always pretty good and reasonably priced along with a good atmosphere with a good mix of local regulars and eaters. Food now very poor and regulars seem to have diminished somewhat. Drink prices are up and hosts not that good at... More

Early days but first thoughts after seeing a sign on the door saying "we reserve the right to close if the bar is not busy" are not good. Not over welcoming but food is OK, home cooked style, reasonably priced, nothing really though to set it apart from the many competitors.

We've used this pub regularly for the last few years. This was our first visit since it changed hands. Still a nice friendly atmosphere. Dogs still allowed down one end of the pub. The pub has been re-decorated and looks clean and fresh. New carpet in the "non-dog" part. The pool room has been brightened up and now looks an... More

It was good to see the Six Bells open again, with a team from the nearby Five Bells in Hesset as the new landlords. We have enjoyed our previous visits to the Six Bells, more for drinks and crisps, than the food - not always up to the mark! Its a good traditional village pub, the food is good well... More

Went to this pretty little pub for the first time on Friday lunchtime. Classically as it was Friday I had the Cod and Chips. Superbly cooked fish and Hand cut and cooked chips to die for, I believe they are cooked in dripping, tasted excellent. My only gripe would be that it is not necessary to serve both the peas... We decided on a whim to take a run out to this pub, which we had not visited since I had my 60th birthday party there 9 years ago. At that time, both the food and atmosphere were excellent. To say that nothing had changed is a an understatement. The pub interior is both scruffy and claustrophobic. We had booked a... More

Always very impressed with the food down here- as a family we visit perhaps every other Friday/one Friday a month for food- they do not disappoint! The Kentucky style fried chicken is to die for! The chips and coleslaw are amazing and the owners of the pub are always cheery and friendly. One of the best pubs around!
