First off, my standard of Mexican food is uncommonly high (from California), but this place does the trick for any craving you might have! It's clean and staff is friendly. A little pricey, but they have specials

I heard about this restaurant before I even moved to Lexington from Chicago. Yes, they have good food! Tasty even. However, I found if you paid cash you got a very reasonable priced meal. If you use a debit or credit card then you pay full price. I love their chichanga's! Absolutely delicious. They have a great lunch. Enjoy

Really good authentic Mexican dishes. Personally, my staple is the Enchiladas Rancheros Beef, but others in the family have their own favorites too. Chicken fajitas, etc. Never had a bad meal or left hungry.

Jalapeno's has been a staple of the Lexington food scene for longer than I can remember. And that success if for good reason - good food, great values, and incredibly fast, friendly service. This North Side location (1 of 3 in Lexington) is the oldest. They have plenty of seating, but what really sets Jalapeno's aside is their efficiency. Once... More

Second time to stop in N. Lexington area on a road trip and my husband was determined to find this restaurant again, as the sauce he remembered having had "haunted" him for two years! So glad we did! We ordered jalapeño margaritas, but the man who seated us didn't understand us (limited English) so he brought us regular margaritas -... More

The Pacifico quesadilla with corn tortillas is very good. The pico is a homemade blend. Best I've ever eaten. They put a nice blend of sour cream, guacamole, and pico on the plate with the quesadillas. The service was great. Our table of five had a nice dinner. The next time I'm in Lexington, I'll be back!

I'm from Arizona, so I know there can be some pretty flimsy excuses for "Mexican" food the further you get from the border! But I've had good experiences with Jalapeno's, with respectable service, hot food, and food that while not excessively hot, has enough actual spice to counter my homesickness, when I'm getting sick of bland Midwestern fare. Have eaten... More

The lights are turned low so you can't see the greasy & unclean conditions. Floors are greasy. Dusty dirty artificial plants sit on dirty dusty shelves supported by filty walls. The refried beans are the best ever but I had to eat my flautas with a fork because they were mushy. I could go on but there's no need. This... More

The best real Mexican food in Lexington. Chicken soup is perfect. Quesadillas, guacamole, pico de gallo, fajitas, enchiladas, margaritas ---best I have had anywhere. And the prices are so reasonable and the service is fast and personal. This is our "go to" when we have out of town guests and need something fast and delicious.
