Enjoyed a couple of bourbons here while we savored our dinner, the famous "Hot Brown". It surpassed the hype surrounding it. This was truly the finest open-faced sandwich I have ever tasted in my life. Throw in the fantastic setting of the Brown Hotel just perfect.

The hamburger and truffle fries were not your kids burger and fries. How could a hamburger taste so good? And the Striptease dessert was the best dessert I have ever had. Caramel cup filled with liqueur and lit. The flame melts the caramel which flows over chocolate mousse below. OMG!

We sat at the tiny bar and were given an education on bourbons and the Louisville area. The bartender, John, was knowledgeable about the many different bourbons and picked one we would like according to our palate-he was right-on! He also told us about the city and surrounding areas to help us explore. The lobby bar area is quite elegant... More

The hotel is better than the food so the food was a letdown. Even the famous "Brown" - which they invented, seemed a little bit tired and compromised.

Parking is free if eating in the restaurant and is valet. The valets are very friendly and give a good first impression. The restaurant is right in the middle of the lobby but there is so much to see you don't even care. Had the hot brown. Was a little disappointed but was just not to my taste. Have eaten... More

This is definitely a must do while in Louisville. The atmosphere in the hotel was awesome even down to the piano player. Food was great. Service was lacking and the hot brown was worth the trip. I would recommend.

My son and I checked into the Brown Hotel about 9:30 pm so we went straight to the Lobby Bar to catch the menu served until 10. I had the Original Hot Brown. First time trying this dish and it was Awesome. The selection of bourbons is extensive. Highly recommend trying the food and a bourbon or three.

Surround yourself in history as you go back in time and have a drink at this historic hotel bar. You can just imagine all the celebrities who have walked though the hotel and sipped cocktails at the same bar. Typical full bar selection but limited beer choices. Nice place to grab a drink before heading out or a nightcap on... More

The lobby bar at the Brown Hotel is a lovely setting as a well preserved historic hotel. Menu items are a bit limited but something for everyone. I ordered 2 traditional L'ville classics - The Hot Brown and the Derby Pie. Both delightful. Stop by and enjoy a tradition!

My friend and I started out at the Old Seelbach Bar and decided to head to see The Brown Hotel, another old hotel nearby. Well, we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and well-crafted drinks made here in an old-school elegant environment. We told the hostess we were just there for a drink and she still gave us a... More
