My son and I went for Father's Day. We usually get the Tres Amigos enchilada combo, and this trip it was excellent as always. We had their cheesey bean dip, and a couple of draught Dos Equis Ambers, and we've got no complaints. Muy bueno!

This was my second time to visit El Rio Grande at this location. We drove thirty minutes just to have lunch here. The food is supherb! And we got enough for another meal with the lunch portion. The beer comes out ice cold. Service is...friendly and fast. The restaurant is clean. We will decontamination be back againMore

Poor poor poor service with management and the girl waitresses. Most of the men waiters have always been very good at there job. but now a days with all the covid-19 the men waiters are not there but one that I will vouch for and...his name is Surgeo. He is very respectful and a very good server. But you cant get him everytime. To bad you cant get his professionalism in all the servers. I do not recommend Rio Grande in Newport Ky. Go to Taylor mills Mexican restaurant which is called El Jinete Mexican Grill the food is just the same taste as Rio Grande and queso cheese sauce is as good as well and guess what the service is good and same tasting food.More

They really have the takeout and pickup situation running smoothly. The food was consistent for Rio and I'm always up for a debate about whether to choose Rio or Cancun.

The food is delicious and comes quickly, and is worth a try. The taste of the food can be a bit inconsistent.

We love coming here as a family! We have been eating here for the past ten years with our children. They love the food! Since they expanded their seating area, we hardly have a long wait. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night,...you can expect to wait. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly. Your food typically comes out fast, but you can always count on eating good chips, salsa and throw in some warm cheese dip if you are waiting.More

My husband loves Mexican and as it was his night to choose, we tried El Rio Grande. It was crowded on a Friday night and they sat us at a table that had been bused, but not cleaned, foot bits on table and seat. We...asked for it to be cleaned and waited several minutes. The frozen drinks came from a machine which creates a overly sweet and icy concoction. The guacamole is premade which makes me wonder if its even made on site. It was ok, but because it's premade you don't have the option of modifying any of the ingredients or the amount of them. My husband had a ground beef burrito that was served luke warm and was disappointing in more ways than one. I had grilled shrimp which was ok, but overpowered by what tasted like Old Bay or clam bake seasoning. It's really hard to make a burrito that my husband doesn't love, which says a lot about the quality of the food here.More

The amount of food for the price, hands down best around. Take out always correct. Enough food for 2 sittings(depending on what you get). Recommend it all day long.

I have been going to Rio Grande for many years. It is always good and they give you a lot of food. The staff is friendly. If you want Mexican around Newport, This is the place to go!
