Clay's has closed down a few months ago. There is no sign out front so it is possible they may just be reorginizing, but they bare not open for business right now.

Service slow, steaks too thin. Sides were good. Drinks were o.k. Had to constantly wave a waitress down for service. Other entrées were o.k but for a "steak house" there was a lot to be desired. Understand the place has now closed.

It had been almost five months since we last ate at Clay and am sad to say it will be our last. Several items on the menu were not available, including beer and wine from the drink menu; there were no specials for Friday evening; bread was straight from the plastic bag; and the new menu had become even more... Came for dessert and enjoyed a lovely bread pudding with burboun sauce. It was delicious. The wait staff is also very nice bringing southern charm and hospitality to the place. The music selection was beautiful. Nothing like some old jazz to create a wonderful dining experience.

Nice food at a nice price. Herb crusted salmon is very good! My wife had a good pasta dish too. The traditional bread pudding with the bourbon sauce is great. Big enough to share! For a small town this is an above average find. I would put it on my short list of places to eat

We had 2 great dinners while staying in the area. The chef (Elizabeth I think) was personable and very good at what she does. We had several salmon dishes and they were all wonderful. Cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The shrimp and pasta was also very good. I thought the servers were excellent also. Very knowledgeable and just the... More

Our first time visit looking for some place out of the ordinary. Beautiful gracious Southern charm and hospitality! Staff were friendly and attentive. All aspects of our meal were executed well. The menu has something for everyone. The steak was an excellent cut prepared just right! Salmon cakes were very good along with the veggie sides. Relaxing atmosphere after a... More

We were staying just outside of Paris, KY, so we were looking for close restaurants for dinner. We had steak and pasta. The marinara sauce was delicious. My husband's steak was average. Our kids had fries and PB&J. The fresh squeezed lemonade is awesome. Our server was nice and the hostess was very friendly.

Clay's "chocolate bread pudding" is more like a dense cake with a back note of rich, dark chocolate. Served warm with either homemade caramel or bourbon sauce, it is a unique treat. I have stopped in many times just for this dessert but have also enjoyed lunches there. Out-of-town guests will enjoy Clay's historic charm in delightful downtown Paris.

We came here on a week night. There were only 3-4 other people in the place. Our waitress, and older lady who loved to talk, spent most of her time visiting with the regulars. We waited about 45 minutes for our dinner. I could understand it if they were busy, but ours was the only meal being prepared. Waitress spent... More
