The view was very nice from where we sat by the window. I even got to see a racoon walk by looking for food. Maybe it was what we ordered or the time of day which was 330pm but......for a seafood platter you couldn't tell what was what. The fish looked like the shrimp and other foods. All fried way... If you haven't experienced the history and the tradition the Hurst family has created in this Lafayette Parish landmark then you are truly missing how they stand alone in Acadiana cuisine.

Not what you would expect for the location, this little jewel is tucked away amongst the trees with a pond and fountain beside it. The food is excellent. We had the gumbo, stuffed catfish and shrimp poor-boy. All of which are worth recommending. This was by far the freshest seafood I've had in a while. The bread pudding is Fantastic... More

This place is often overlooked because it's been here so long ...we have been coming here for over 30 years...if you want a true local Cajun experience...this is the place to go ...cannot go wrong with the lump crabmeat or flounder Riverside ...ask for a relish tray (it's complimentary) and try the pickled watermelon and the fried alligator for an... While on business I was recommended this restaurant by locals when I asked for some authentic Cajun cuisine. I was worried until I pulled in a saw it was busy and clean. I didn't notice when looking at the menu but when my dishes came u realized this is a local seafood creole restraunt. My seafood jumbo didn't have bell... More

I've been going to Riverside Inn for decades when I use to live in Lafayette. Now I live in Houston, but when I do go back I always make it a point to eat there. Not only is the food the best around, the staff makes the visit extra special. Always professional and friendly, with that Cajun accent to boot!

This is a favorite spot for a business lunch, particularly if hosting visitors from out of state. The food is always delicious with large portions -- and at lunch they always serve a complimentary cup of tasty soup. Seafood dishes are very good, but the salads are also wonderful. Lunch specials are available. Fresh rolls served with every meal. In... More

Romantic at night. Food is excellent. Service is good. Prices are about on par for the quality. Fried Alligator is really good. Special place for our family. Wish I lived closer. Oh the Ranch dressing for salads is excellent!!

This is absolutely my most favorite restaurant in Lafayette. The quality of the food and the food selection on the menu cannot be beaten. I have eaten at this restaurant regularly for over 25 years and have never been disappointed.

Starting with a snowball stand in 1932 until today, Richard & Lori Hurst are carrying on the family tradition. From St. John Street to on the River, to nestled in the woods, now with two full service restaurants, Poor Boy's Riverside Inn's and Little River Inn's seafood and steaks have remained consistently delicious for over 80 years. Richard and Lori and their loyal staff hope you taste not only delicious Cajun food, but the pride that goes into every dish! The oldest restaurants in Acadiana with a great wine and dessert selection, kid friendly and great atmosphere with a third generation husband and wife team ready to serve and where you'll always find the locals.
