Got turned on to this one by a friend who knows all the best places to chow down on authentic local fare. A simple roadhouse that's been there for years....try their duck po-boy or crawfish Monica. You feel like you stepped back in time. We had lunch and came back the next day...it's all that good....

Came here with a friend while in town for work. They were packed, but service was relatively quick. I got a fried green tomato & shrimp remoulade poboy, my friend got the cochon de lait, and we split some fries. Portions are BIG--it's a full foot long sandwich, so plan on taking some home w/you unless you're super hungry. Both... More

If you don't mind a little cab ride out of downtown, this is the place to have a po' boy in New Orleans. Don't get bogged down with gross French Quarter imitators, make your way here. Used to go to Crabby Jacks when I lived in New Orleans and couldn't wait to try again when I got back last week.... More

Take it in, from the sign promising the Po-Boy Museum outside, to the art covered walls inside but the real artistry is in the kitchen. Duck debris po-boy? Outstanding, tender shreds of long roasted duck, dripping with gravy, superb. The cochon de lait, roasted suckling pig, was intense. Down here they measure a sammitch in napkins, this was 6 napkin... I shared this today with Smiley Anders, The Advocate Columnist, I enjoyed a nice lunch yesterday in N'Awlins with my buddy, Scott, at "Crabby Jacks!" I tried the Specialty "Slow Roasted Duck Poboy" - first time ever. Reminded me of a good ole greasy Roast Beef one from Mother's or Schwegmann's! The atmosphere was nice and you got to sit... More

I was told not to miss this place, and boy was I told right! I had the fried green tomato Po' Boy with shrimp roumelade. We had a large and split it between the two of us. Delicious!!! I also had the alligator cheesecake. Pretty interesting. If you are looking for something different this is the ticket! The potato salad... More

Having eating at Jacques Imo's before for a fantastic meal, discovering Crabby Jack's and the menu of Po-boys and other cajun favorites, but in a casual atmosphere more geared to families (we have an 8 & 6 year old) was a highlight of our trip. The fried-green tomato and shrimp remoulade po-boy was the best I have ever had. The... More

Here is the low down on Crabby Jack's: If you are a foodie, this is the experience you want to put on your blog. Best oyster po-boy I have even eaten and oyster po-boys are the acid test for New Orleans cuisine. Duck po-boy is a killer. Not good for large groups although we have 10 people and the food... More

Great variety of cajun cooking. Fair amount of fried food, without a lot of fresh options. The Grilled duck po boy was delish. Restaurant was full of locals...always a good sign.

The shrimp is my favorite but the oyster po-boy was excellent. Plan on a full restaurant if you go during normal lunch hours. Seating is banquet style so it's a great chance to meet some new people. Good prices, great food, large portions.
