This place was recommended by someone at hotel as home cooking. It was very busy when we got there on Saturday morning for breakfast about 9:00. We were seated immediately. The food was good and filling. The service was typical diner staff, fast and efficient,...More

Since moving to Louisiana, all I have heard is that Strawn's has the best food and the pie is bar none. Having eaten there today, I don't know why everyone raves about it. The food is okay, but not amazing. I had a cheeseburger and...More

Strawn's is an institution in Shreveport. The daily home cooked meals are always good and the short order menu is really great. Their form of breakfast potatoes are wonderful. You can always get them instead of fries. The décor is unique and there is counter...More

Strawn's, and it's clones, Strawn's Too and Strawn's Also, are a Shreveport institution. At the prime breakfast hour they are often crowded and noisy, and might run low on some prized items, but you should go at least once. The food is traditional breakfast food...More

The best homemade pie anywhere. I love the chicken fried steak. The service is always prompt. I have not had anything there that was not great.

Strawn's is your typical diner so don't expect any lavish atmosphere. It's very busy and very loud at breakfast. The servers work their tails off and sure know how to wait tables. So, breakfast is okay but I can't say it's better than any other...More

I'm sorry you do not like our hash browns. They are the Greek style we've served for over 70 years, but we understand they are not for everyone.

We have given out the recipe before to Southern Living, but the secret to our recipe is the people who make them. They've been making them the same from scratch, daily; a tradition passed down for 80 years.

Yes they serve that daily. They have their meal special of the day but you can order anything they have on their menu. It's just good down home cooking. All their pies are delicious.

Description
Strawns Eat Shop specializes in Southern Food, and is best know for their famous ice box pies. We have breakfast all day, including fluffy pancakes and "Football" omlettes. For lunch and dinner try a hamburger, chicken fried steak or a blue plate special. Our famous Ice Box Pies have been featured in Southern Living and on The Food Network. Most of our employees have been here for decades! We are the truly one of the last remaining "mom and pop" run restaurants around! Think Norman Rockwell America!! Stop by and eat with the locals because everyone is family at Strawn's!
