We loved Oysters Mosca. The chicken was a delicious surprise. Reservations definitely required. The outside looks like a roadside dive, but inside is great. Professional and friendly service- order the amount they tell you!

We have been coming to Moscas since I was a student at Tulane in the 60's. The Oysters Mosca is still my favorite dish. Chicken a La Grande is wonderful. Note that they take cash only. A restaurant we have been dining at for 50 years and never disappointing.

This old family restaurant has minimal atmosphere and few menu items to offer. The service was certainly lacking. The standard spaghetti was delicious. The chicken ala grand was very tasty. The sausage Johnny was overcooked and dry. Cash only with hefty prices is certainly not a great combo for travelers. Waiting 50-60 minutes for your dinner in today's restaurant environment... More

This is my favorite Nola restaurant, although it is not in Nola proper. The food is epic----the kind you dream about when you're not in town. Italian, with wonderful seafood options---try the Oysters Mosca---and a nice selection of wines. Locals swear by it, and I have taken groups of guests here as often as possible---the response is always the same:... More

We went here on our way home from a trip for some of my medical needs, as per the recommendation of a few people. Don't let the exterior fool you...the people inside think it's the Ritz Carlton. It's a clean place but they are having delusions of grandeur. We were simply greeted with, "do you have a reservation?" It was... More

The restaurant is not so convenient to downtown New Orleans and it's cash only, but the food was wonderful, the wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable, the Jukebox provided a host of classic music, and the overall dinning experience was very special.

If you want some excellent Italian cuisine, you have to drive a little to the west bank of New Orleans. Four miles west of the foot of the Huey P Long bridge is Mosca's. You won't regret making the trip. Mosca's has a short menu of family style Italian dishes (large, shareable portions). We started with an excellent Crab Salad... More

Gotta go out of your way, but man it is worth it. Jukebox loaded with Sinatra, Ray Charles, Dino. Plates of pasta in huge mounds (the Bordelaise is incredible), Shrimp Mosca in a sauce you want to eat with a spoon. I doubt there are many places left like this anywhere.

We were a group of 9 tonight. We ate family style. No susuage tonight. Chicken was way too dry and bland. Shrimp were hard to peel. Spaghetti and meatballs were so so. Crab salad awful could not find any crabmeat and bland. Service was good. We had to shine car headlights in the front to see our way in the... More
