Staying just down the road fancied a different menu. Called in here on St. Andrew's day expecting it to be really busy but quickly got a table. Smoked chicken breast salad was nicely presented and the blackberries and black pudding gave it a nice twist. Scottish cheeses for afters was great although would have been nice to have some explanation... More

Had the Balmoral Chicken which was the best I have ever tasted. My wife went for the Steak Pie and again the quality of the meat was superb. Can't wait to go back.

Came here a few times now for coffee and breakfast. Can recommend the breakfast rolls, which you can have with one or two fillings (6 or 7 options). All are freshly cooked, so be prepared to wait a little while - at least it's served hot! The coffee is of a good quality too, recommend getting a large cup, as... More

We have been twice to the rail bridge bistro, both occasions were for family celebrations. The bistro was able to accommodate a large group aging from younger children upwards. The staff were very pleasant and the service was excellent. The menu offered a good choice at reasonable prices. Will go back again.

I've only eaten here once and it was for dinner. My overall impression was that it would probably be a better venue for lunch. Then the fact that it is part shop, part restaurant would feel less of a distraction. Also the service, which some reviewers complain about, is more akin to that in a cafe than a restaurant. Most... The restaurant was fairly busy and there was a shortage of tables other than on the upper floor which was accessed by an open, glass sided stair case which was a no go for me. We were seated on a sofa , the bonus being the wood burning fire that was adjacent giving off a warm glow. We were attended... More
