Was treated to a excellent dining experience. It was my birthday and wanted to check out the restaurant. I have been to Italy and must say this place has not missed a step in making this genuine in every way. Well done to all.
Ok, the bread was hot, but the salad was not something I would order again, not enough greens too much cheese no olives. Shrimp Scampi, Chicken Parm were excellent..The desserts that we ordered, cannoli cream was runny, the oreo cookie ice cream pie was topped...with just fake syrup and unflavored whipped cream. Yes the main meals were very good, but don't think we will e back. The place is "tired" looking, very outdated, needs a facelift .More
The good points were great bread and salad dressing, and steamed broccoli. But the entrees we ordered were disappointing. The chicken breast with artichokes and mushrooms was cut into pieces of inconsistent size so some pieces were juicy and tender and many others were hard...and leathery. The sauce was very thin and tasted extremely acidic as if the liquid from the artichokes was not drained off. No taste of wine or butter and it was not reduced. The rib-eye steak arrived with a 7" high pyramid of fried onions and mushrooms, completely hiding it. It was very unappetizing to look at and you wondered why they were hiding the steak. It was blackened and tasted of charcoal or other residue from the cooking surface. The waitress made a $16. mistake on our bill, charging us for something we did not have and made a loud remark when it was pointed out to her. We would not go there again.More
Warm friendly small restaurant, I recommend you make a reservation. Homemade pasta out of this world. Portions are very good also, always take some home. Antipasto is made with very fresh ingredients, good wine list. We dine here often when we are in Maine for...the summer and have never been disappointed.More
We own a vacation home here in Bridgton. We had friends visiting from South Carolina who wanted Italian for dinner. My husband and I have eaten here before but it’s been awhile. We walked in at 5pm when they opened and was asked if we...had reservations for which we answered No. The woman (later identified as Toni) said, “let me see what I can do”, returned a minute later and said, “follow me”. Toni sat us at a corner table, took our drink orders and went over the specials for the night. Delicious warm bread, along with dipping oil and butter, was brought to the table. We ordered two cups of Pasta Fagioli, which came out hot and delicious, along with the large Antipasto for the four of us to share. Our main entree’s consisted of Veal Parmigiana, Veal Piccata, Carbonara, and the Veal and Eggplant special. Absolutely the BEST Italian food in Maine. The restaurant isn’t that big but it’s cozy and the service was impeccable. Reservations are highly recommended, and we thank Toni for accommodating us without them. Although no one in our party was gluten-free, they do offer gluten free pasta.More
This is a very special restaurant. Great friendly service, it's like going home for dinner. The food is exceptional. I highly recommend this Italian restaurant.
My husband and I visited last night for our anniversary. I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve lived nearby for years and had never been in. That is all about to change! We had reservations, which I highly recommend. Our server was wonderful and our dinner...was out of this world! I had the eggplant/veal special and the red sauce was sooooo good! My husband had shrimp scampi and also raved about it. I don’t think you can go wrong with any dish that uses their homemade red sauce honestly, I can’t wait to go back! We both had espresso and tiramisu for dessert and it was lovely. Traditional and high quality Italian food. I’m so very happy that it is so close, we will be frequent return patrons!More
Checked into a local B and B who recommended Venezia Ristorante and while we were warned that we’d be served at a leisurely pace it was far longer than we could have imagined. Arrived at the appointed time of 7.15 but didn’t receive our meal...until 8.45 by which time we were almost passed wanting to eat. When the food did arrive it was good but the long wait spoiled the evening.More
