Very friendly and attentive service! But what set them apart from the rest was sausage gravey and biscuits! Without a doubt, the best I've had in years!

This small spot is the perfect example of "American Diner-Style" breakfast. Lots of options and everything was delicious. Staff friendly, busy, efficient. May have to wait a few minutes for a table especially on weekends but worth the wait. Would absolutely eat there again

Best diner I've been to in a long time! Everything from the service to the food was fantastic! I had the sausage gravey and biscuits with scrambled eggs and home fries. To say the least, it was a meal. The gravey and biscuits were so...flavorful ( the best I've had in many years ). The eggs were delicious, and the home fries were cooked and seasoned to perfection.More

Hands down the best breakfast diner food in the state of Maine! Cash only! Amazing service! Sundays are slammed but always worth a wait. Love the Benedict and the blueberry pie is crazy good!

Quaint diner with good food. Busy, busy, busy with locals so you know it’s tasty. Cheaper than Bar Harbor. Pop culture 50s theme.

Tasty food. Quick, friendly service. Make sure you have cash because they don’t take cards. My ham omelet was good; my home fries were great, but my favorite item was the grilled bagel. Yum!

Had a very good breakfast at Martha's Diner. Most of us got eggs and corned beef hash, which was a good portion and tasty. The food took quite a while to show up, but our waitress let us know in advance that corned beef hash...would take a little longer, so that was fine. All in all, would definitely recommend. A note to bring cash --- These folks don't take a credit card, but an ATM is steps away.More

We were in Ellsworth, on a shopping trip, today. Not wanting greasy fast food, we did our research and found Martha's. We arrived a half hour before closing and were greeted warmly upon entry. Drinks were provided immediately. Our order was taken and the food...arrived quickly! We ordered the soup of the day and 2 ham and cheese plates. The warm sandwiches were Beyond Scrumptious! Excellent sour pickles, tasty coleslaw and chips rounded out the meal. The restaurant was clean and bright. The old-time atmosphere was fun. The staff is what makes this place special tho! Quick, attentive, friendly, flawless service. We will Definitely be back.More

This lovely gem of a diner is tucked away at the end of a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. This place is absolutely fantastic! It's super popular, and we had a bit of a wait when we arrived, but we were soon...seated at a table. The decor is 1940s and 1950s, which adds to the charm of the restaurant. Our waitress was friendly without being overbearing, and helped us decide what to order. My husband ordered a steak and cheese omelette and I ordered the spanakopita lunch special, and both meals were delicious! The portions are pretty big - neither of us could finish our meals. We were too full for dessert, but those looked good too. They were short staffed here, so it took a bit longer for our food to arrive, but that's understandable - a lot of places are understaffed right now, and we enjoyed looking at the decor in the meantime. This restaurant is clearly a favorite among locals, which is a good sign of this place's quality. This place is cash only.More

Martha's is a gem. Everything a diner is supposed to be and more. We ate there twice during our trip to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island with our jumping off point of Bar Harbor. It was that good. The place we had planned to...eat for breakfast was closed. What good luck! Because then we had to search for somewhere else to eat and found Martha's. It is definitely a local place and a bit off the beaten path. But worth finding. They have blackboard specials so don't forget to check them out. They cook diner breakfast to perfection but also have some interesting specials and killer pancakes. But the thing about Martha's is the pie. Our friend ordered breakfast and pie and asked the pie to come first. His raspberry pie arrived quickly and made us all sad we hadn't ordered it too. It was thick, stuffed with raspberries that tasted so fresh and not over sweetened and had a flaky, skillfully made crust. We all got bites and raved it but stupidly did not order pie for ourselves. It is the first full day of the vacation and we thought there were many berry pies in our future as we trekked through Maine, Nova Scotia and PEI. And there were blueberry and raspberry pies in most of the restaurants in which we ate. But what we didn't know was that Martha's would become the gold standard by which all other pies would be judged. It was simple and perfectly executed. So on our way to fly home from Bangor, our last meal of the trip was at Martha's and we all ordered pie. Some of us ordered blueberry and some raspberry and both were pie perfection. And by the way, all the food we had at Martha's was excellent. The interior is a typical diner. It is small so you might have to wait. Tips: Take pie to go. Why I didn't on the second visit I do not know. You seat yourself when a table opens up. Hospitality Factor: Very good. Our servers for both visits were attentive, friendly and fast.More

This is definitely a keeper. Unique specials, fairly priced and ample helpings. Wife has the crab benedict, and I had the crab quiche. Both excellent. Too bad closed Monday and Tuesday are we would have done a repeat visit. Definitely a friendly local place.

While traveling from the farthest point in Eastern Maine on our way home to New Hampshire, we stopped in for breakfast. We knew it would be good because of the long line outside. No problem. We had nothing else on our calendar. Worth every second...of the wait! By far, some of the most professional and friendly staff we have had the pleasure of meeting in any restaurant. Especially our waitress. Cool as a cucumber, and as patient as one could be in the middle of an overcrowded, hectic environment. Then, there is the food. Some of the best we have had. My wife enjoyed the spinach and feta quiche with home fries (the real deal), and I had a banana split waffle. To die for!! Where else could you have a waffle covered with sliced bananas, Maine blueberries (those awesome little ones), strawberries, chocolate chips, walnuts and whipped cream. Oh, and real maple syrup. Heavenly. Had a side of bacon that was cooked to perfection. Add to this some of the best coffee we have enjoyed, and you have an absolutely perfect breakfast. Do not pass Martha's Diner by while traveling in the area.More
